Mariai's POV

June 28 15 BBY

Hello. I bet you are wondering who I am. My name is Mariai Shiyhun Brasel, Princess of Canal.  My planet is divided into the four elements of the world: Fire, water, earth, and air. My family are descendants of the first Canalian to ever walk: Chin Yang. My parents are Edward and Amelia Brasel. I am the youngest of five children: two older brothers and three sisters (a/n: I will introduce them later). Today is my 2nd birthday! Though I look like I'm five due to growth spurts. My people grow a little quicker than normal, but we age normal.

This morning, I came downstairs to decorations, all of my favorite colors: purple, blue, and red. My eyes glittered with happiness and excitement.  The whole family screamed "Happy Birthday" as I came into the dining room. Today will be unforgettable.

End of POV

Mariai and her family had just finished singing happy birthday to her. but as she was about to blow the candles out on her cake, they saw something coming towards them! CRASH! As the dust cleared, they saw a light emerge. it was a member of the Fire Clan. the guards ran to her family's safety but couldn't hold them back. the family began running outside to safety only to see a horrific sight.

The Fire clan and element kingdom were battling like it was war. Blood, dead bodies, arrows, burn marks, and smoke were all over the courtyard. It looked like a massacre just happened.  As they were running to the secret bunker, Fire Balls (fire clan people. no pun intended LOL) surrounded them. her parents blasted them out of the way and began running again

"GO GO GO!" Her father yelled as his family ran to the bunker. Nearing the bunker, more fire balls appeared.

"Go Edward! I'll hold them back!" Amelia said, while activating her powers.

''NO! IM NOT LEAVING YOU BEHIND!" Edward exclaimed.

"Don't worry, I'll be right behind you." she said

Mariai's POV

Things happened so fast.  We get attacked then my mom tells us to go while she stays behind. I didn't want that at all. I leapt and grabbed her hand begging her to not stay behind.

" MOM please! Don't leave us. We can't lose you!" I said with tears falling from my eyes. Mom then got down on her knees and hugged me tight. as she let go, with a hand on my cheek, she said in a soft voice,

"Don't worry about me. I'll always be with you."

But as she was about to fight, a flame thrower (sword) went through her stomach.

"MOOOOM!" I screamed with a waterfall of tears coming down. I caught her in my arms. She was bleeding out fast onto my hand and the ground.

"Stay...strong for me...ok?" she said in a weak voice.

"But..." I said hesitantly

"Please Mariai" she said.

"I will...mother" I said sobbing.

she smiled and took her last breath, dying in my arms. I then screamed very.... very loud.

my father then ran and ripped me from her.

NO!

NOOO!

MOTHER!

MOTHER!

We made it to the bunker and just by the state I was in, and the blood on my hands, my siblings could tell mom didn't make it.

Then snap...something broke inside of me. Like my mouth was fused shut and my heart shattered into my chest. My eyes losing the sparkle from a few hours ago.  I was now silent and broken.
