Hello everyone. This is chapter 4 of Shattered. Before we get into this chapter, again I want to put a disclaimer: I am not an expert nor a person who has experienced abuse or neglect from a parent. I am really sorry if I offend anyone who has gone through it. I hope you understand. Also, T.A.I stands for Training Animatronic Intelligence.

Quinn's POV
Hi. My name is Prince Quinn, third born of Element Kingdom. I'm beginning my sword training with the T.A.I.
" Kāishǐ !(begin)" I command.
The light shines green, and the decoys come charging. I backflip dodging their attack while swinging my sword slashing their back. I slide on the floor while analyzing my surroundings and the situation. One of the bots jumps in the air, sword about to strike me down but its successfully blocked by mine. Sweat trickles down the temple of my face as we lock swords intensely. Letting go I leap up and strike it down while landing on my feet.
"Tóuxiáng! (surrender)" I said shutting the bots down and ending the training session.
I wipe the sweat off with my towel while looking at the time: 6:49 pm. I walk to the bathroom to take a shower. As the water streams down my body, eyes closed, a flashback of that day consumes my sight.
Flashback
The situation escalated to war like proportions. First, we're celebrating my lil sister's birthday, next we're running for our lives in a battlefield. As my family enters the bunker, catching our breath, Father count heads and realizes that Mother and Mariai are missing!
"I'm going to get mom and Mariai. Stay put!" Father states. He opens the door and rushes outside.
A few minutes past...and nothing. I'm starting to get worried about not only father but mom and Mariai. Just then I hear something...... screaming.
That sound echoed in my mind. My eyes widen with horror as realization hits. That was my little sister screaming!
Fearing the worst, I desperately wanted to climb out, but just as I was about to run, father busted through the door with Mariai in his arms while shutting the door.
Feeling relieved I was about to ask where mom was but...then
I saw my sister's face: covered in tears, blood and dirt. her eyes were.... emotionless.
