Colet's POV:
The office was extremely quiet. All you could hear were the sound of keyboards as me and her typed away, and the rustling of papers as they turned the pages.
It had been a week of such quietness in the office. No arguments, no disagreements. It had also been a week since our misunderstanding.
If we ever talked, it was only about work. Our conversations were formal, devoid of any agreement between us.
I still give her rides home, but it's becoming rare because we still haven't patched things up. She often goes home alone. I hope her family doesn't notice.
The only thing I haven't been doing these past few days is buying her favorite food. I haven't even greeted her when I come in the morning.
After a while, there was a sudden knock on the door three times, so I turned to it. I glanced as the door slowly opened, revealing a man with a wide smile, holding a bouquet of flowers. He was dressed formally, standing tall and straight.
Migo: “Hi, Jhoanna! Flowers for you. I also brought you mojos, your favorite!” Magiliw na bati nito sa aking amo. Tss, ibang restaurant pinagbilhan. It means, hindi 'yan favorite ni Jho.
Jhoanna: “Thanks. You came early, Migo. One hour to be exact, do you need to talk about something?”
Migo: "Actually, I was just about to ask if you'd like to grab a quick snack outside. It's been a while since we last saw each other." I listened to their conversation while typing reports. But I paused when I heard his response.
Jhoanna: “Sure, Migo. I'll just save this.” She said and I saw how her lips formed into a smile to that guy. Really?! In front of me?!
Migo: “Take your time, Jhoanna. I am willing to wait how long it takes dahil alam ko namang papayag kang sumama sa akin.” He confidently said with a smirk. Aba, tarantado toh ah.
Jhoanna: “I saved it na. Tara?” She said and stood up. Making her swivel chair move a bit backwards and grabbed her bag. Making her way out of the table to face the guy.
Miguel: “Let's go, then.” Nakakainis talaga.
I immediately stood up from my seat, causing them to look in my direction. I didn't know why, but I was furious about what was happening. I couldn't believe she was doing this, especially when we had an agreement.
“Do you even want to say goodbye sa BABU mo.” I emphasized my words to make it clear to the man that there was a relationship between me and my Boss when he invited Jho to dine out.
I looked into Jhoanna's eyes as she did the same. Neither of us wanted to speak. It was almost as if I were seeing her eyes for the first time again, but I felt something different and saw something deeper in them compared to before.
Instead of responding to me, she swiftly took hold of the man's wrist and escorted them out of the office, leaving me with a surprised expression on my face.
