"Sodo," you theatre whispered in the hallway. "Sodo!" The door to the church was wide open; maybe he had taken things outside? There was a snarling sound, and you caught the end of Sodo being pulled by the creature down a footpath. "Fffff." You reached into your pocket and found your knife and chilli. Looking like some kind of shitty vampire hunter, you went in. No plans, nothing.

"Oi, fucker!" The thing whirled its attention on you but was still intent on dragging Sodo.

"_____, seriously, get out of here."

"You said you had it; this doesn't look like 'having it'." You edged with your blade, and as it was busy man-handling Sodo you stabbed it. Stabbed without conviction. Like, an unsure,'I guess I'll stab you(?)'. You honestly didn't think it would land. Any other creature would have dropped Sodomiser and dodged, but this thing did not. You caught it behind the shoulder blade.

The creature was making a squealing sound like a busted air mattress moving quicker, mostly unhindered by your jab. You scrambled to keep up; should you ask for help? This had just gotten way more than you could handle. You didn't have much time to think about the matter as Sodo was suddenly jerked into a bush off the sidewalk.

He called from the bush, "Get back to the church. I have th—" There was nothing more.

"Sodo? Sodomiser?" There was nothing but the night's rustling winds. A chill snuck up on you. "Sodo?" You stepped forward and searched the bush to find it was a spiky, angry bramble. There were trees, bushes? You stepped further in, and as you decided it was finally time to tell Papa, there were no more trees.

There was a stench of mildew. A shifting and scraping of something old. You turned, and with eyes still adjusting, you faced a chipped red brick wall covered in red blood sigils. A fire flickered, and as you made steps to take in your surroundings, your feet met an inch of water.

A wave of nausea hit you like a typhoon. Were you in hell? Something straight-up teleported you to hell. Teleported. Your knees shook. Yelling for Sodo didn't seem a safe idea; you kept your ear piqued for the sounds of dragging through the water.

There came a yell. You dashed in that direction, dagger and pepper in a vice grip. You didn't want to be alone in here. There were bricked archways in the flicking candlelight, wax-dripped walls, iron gates cordoned your steps and skulls stacked in nooks.

You found Sodo in a feral struggle with the masked figure. The water around them ran with chrome and inky blood. Both sides had taken slashes. Sodo's hands ended in long, black claws etched silver. The creature's blade was painted black. You circled, and Sodo gnashed his teeth, grinning wildly.

As the creature's back was to you, you just... kinda jabbed for it again. You caught its side, and it gave a howl, whirling on you taking your blade with it in its back. You skidded back armed with only your spice bottle.

"You followed; of course you followed, asshole." Sodo dashed in front of you.

"I really didn't mean to, if that is any condolence," you grimaced at the beast's wailing.

"It's the sewer; there is a way out..." He stopped as the creature staggered back to where you both stood. Sodo took off at it in a run and skimmed claws across the water to hit it with an uppercut that had it stumbling backwards again.

Why were you worried again? Sodo had just wanted a bigger arena to play with his meal. And now you were in a sewer? You made a less-than-impressed face. At least it wasn't actual hell. You then felt silly for thinking you'd gone to hell.

Sodo turned to you with a smirk, licking his fanged teeth but paused. Paused in a way that let you know something was wrong. And as time slowed, you saw his green eyes go wild with panic. You felt something shift behind, and you understood. There were two. You spun and guarded your vitals with your forearm. You expected a blade, your eyes scrunched for impact, but you got none.
