NATSU

Lucy and I were standing back to back. Dark mages were coming at us from all angles, and she was fending them off with the help of Taurus, her Star Dress and Fleuve d'étoiles, whereas I was using my Fire Dragon's roar constantly to burn my foes. I listened out for her battle cries, 'Earth Wave', 'Lucy Punch' and eventually 'Lucy Kick' being the most common ones. Admittedly it distracted me a little, but she'd grown more powerful over the years and now she was very strong. Almost S-class level. "Step back, Luce." I called fleetingly over my shoulder. She ran after one last Earth Wave, Taurus following shortly after. I inhaled deeply.

"Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade!" I roared. The fight was over, all our remaining enemies had been taken out with this move. It had been good training, I thought. "Oi! Luce," she spun around, tattered but still smiling. "that was pretty good." I gave her a thumbs up. She looked overjoyed. She ran over to meet me, and we did our fist-bump-high-five thing. Then there was this weird pause where she wouldn't stop staring at me and I was staring into the distance to my right, and she just ruffled my hair and giggled before scampering off.

"Jeez, Luce. You're always doing that," I chuckled, rubbing the back of my neck. I shrugged. "well, let's go get that reward!" I cheered, walking off with my arms behind my head. I shut my eyes, but after a while I heard giggles. "Luce, calm down." I groaned, opening one eye. There stood the blonde, and I was just about to-

"Kya!" walk right into her.

"Jeez Luce!" I exclaimed, catching her as she fell. "You shouldn't do that! You knew I wasn't looking!"

"I-I know..." she stuttered, looking at her feet. "I'm sorry, Natsu." She stood up, shuffling said feet awkwardly. I felt a tad uncomfortable at how upset she became so suddenly.

"Sorry." She looked up confusedly. "That was harsh." I confessed, face-palming. She waved her hands around frantically, disagreeing profusely. I rolled my eyes and walked on, the epitome of 'chillaxed'.

"Natsu?"

"Yeah?"

"...nothing..."

"Luce, this is getting irritating."

"Okay okay! I'll shut up now, sorry."

"Luce?"

"...yeah?"

"Don't ever be sorry for wanting to say how you feel. That's like, rule number one."

"...Thanks."

And with that, we walked the rest of the way side by side, our arms brushing against one another.
