NATSU
I shook at Zeref's words, blinking back tears furiously. He'd told me everything. About how I was E.N.D. and I would kill him and myself. About how we were brothers and he'd spent his whole immortal life so far reviving me, and my whole life led up to this moment. About how in the fight Gray would try and defeat both me and him, and end up dead as well. About how Happy would die, probably under my own hands.
About how Lucy would die too, trying to save everyone.
Suddenly he looked up. "It's time." Zeref looked to me sadly. "I'm giving you the chance to say farewell to your friends. After all, you are my little brother." I thrashed around in my chains as he picked up the book. "Or do you want me to open this now? You could say goodbye to Happy, and that Lucy girl. Your choice." He shrugged. I stayed motionless, my mind numb and blank. I'd lost all hope.
"We're up here!" He boomed, turning to me. "Don't worry, Acnologia is keeping those pesky dragon slayers company. And a majority of your guild." He paused. "Actually, just for fun, let's pause that battle." His Immobilisation Magic came into effect. "Of course I won't do it to you. I'm having quite the fun with this," he smiled down at me. "I haven't immobilised your Team, isn't that the demon slayer one, the Titania, the flying cat named after a feeling," he counted on his fingers. "the little girl, oh and the blonde girl too. You can say goodbye to them. I presumed they were your closest friends."
I didn't say anything. He kept on talking. Suddenly Mavis appeared out of nowhere. "Hi!" She waved, and puffed out her cheeks at Zeref. "Don't mind him, he's such a downer," yet when she looked at him, her eyes got serious. "luckily he can't kill you instantly, because he let you keep your scarf." She shrugged. "Want me to go tell them how to get up here?" She asked. I nodded discreetly.
"Mavis is here, isn't she," he said, turning to me. I was about to shake my head. "there's no use in lying, I can tell." He said, smiling. "I'll be joining you wherever dead people go," he said, to no-one in particular. Mavis rolled her eyes. "so don't get your hopes up that you're never seeing me again." He chuckled. I wondered what their relationship was. It seemed complicated. Mavis disappeared.
"I'm gonna keep hold of this book, in case they try and take it off me. If they destroy this, I'll never die, and that'll make me kill them, okay?" He explained. I nodded. I didn't want my friends to die. They were like my family. They were better family than him, anyway. "I can't control my magic right now anyway..." he said to himself. My eyes were wide, how could someone as powerful as him not be able to control magic?
"Zeref! Let him go!" The six in question burst in. Zeref stopped his immobilisation magic.
"Zeref, you don't know what you're doing," Lucy stepped forwards slowly.
"Say goodbye to Natsu." He said emotionlessly, pointing to me. I waved through the chains. Erza covered her mouth, looking like she was about to cry. Gray looked guilty. Wendy started crying and used Happy, who was also crying, as a pillow to hug.
"No, Zeref you don't understand-"
"Don't talk to me like that." He snapped coldly.
"But he isn't your destiny!" She screamed. Everyone was silent, looking at her in confusion. "I am..." she whispered shyly. Zeref began to laugh.
"That's real funny, Natsu I see why you-" I hit him playfully on the arm. He shut up about it. "but yeah, no. Either way, chances are up." He popped the p and began to unshackle me. Everyone stayed silent except for the sobs. Then Lucy started to whisper to everyone, who left except for her. Gray came back and they had a whisper-argument, but by the time my chains were off, he'd left too. He was just standing behind the door though. I knew a chance when I got one.
