"Hey... Charles..." I hear a whisper. "Come on... wake up..." This sweet voice whispering into my ear. I feel a thumb brushing over my right cheek. "Come on..." The soft voice repeats and the thumb brushes over my cheek again. I keep my eyes closed, still sleepy as hell. God this fucking jet lag. "One more minute!" I mumble while moving my head to get comfy again. Wait... This isn't my pillow! Or even my bed!

My eyes dart open. My eyes try to adjust to the bright floodlights. Am I still on track? Did I had a crash and can't remember? I move my head to the left. Oh mon dieu (my God), I fell asleep... on Y/N! I sit up straight as fast as I could. She chuckles softly as I hold my back. The Pit lane asphalt isn't really comfortable. Great, now I have to visit my physiotherapist again.

I sit there, not daring to look at her. How embarrassing is that?! Falling asleep on her shoulder? We don't even know each other and I pulled that move. I want to disappear into the ground. Where is this famous hole that swallows you? My cheeks start to turn slightly red.

"You still tired?" Y/N asks softly behind me. I take a deep breath, preparing myself to look at her again. "I'm sorry..." I mumble, still not turning into her direction. It's so fucking embarrassing. "For what?" She laughs. There is this sweet laughter again. I love it. I think I have to force her to never do something else than laughing. I finally find the courage to turn around, meeting her eyes. "I didn't... I didn't want to fall asleep on you..." I continue to mumble, maybe it sounds less embarrassing when I mumble. She laughs again, how can someone be so bright with everything? Even when a stranger slept on her shoulder?

"Don't worry, Schlafmütze! I don't mind! You don't have to be embarrassed!" She smiles softly. What is a Schlafm... u... ü...tze? I have no idea what this word means. I think I heard it in the past but I don't even remember where or from who. "I'm not embarrassed!" I exclaim, trying to sound self-confident and calm. My hands are shaking, which is why I start playing with my rings. Nervous habit. "It's ok. I mean I wouldn't have pulled your head into my lap, when I would have been uncomfortable. As well as I didn't wanted you to get any back pain for todays Quali! It can be very uncomfortable to drive with an arching back." She answers, still very confident. Today?! What time is it? I fish my phone out of my back pocket. It's five past midnight!

"I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have done that! You should be in bed by now!" I stammer around, jumping up. "First of all, I'm old enough to be up this late and second of all... you love apologising, don't you?" She still laughs, I turn redder. "No... yes... sorry..." I still stammer around while holding out my hand. She continues to laugh, "Stop that!" "I can't. My maman raised me to be a gentleman!" And then I wink at her. Was that a cute little flirt move or did I just embarrass myself even more?

Her cheeks turn a slight shade of red so I assume that it came off as flirty. At least not one so embarrassing thing. I lower my hand a tiny bit more, so she understands my offer. Her beautiful eyes look from mine to my hand. For some seconds she just stares at my ringed hand before accepting it. I help her up carefully, her skin soft and warm. I want to hold her hand longer than this few seconds. I want to let my thumb run over her skin or kiss the back of her hand, to feel her soft skin against my lips. I would also enjoy her thumb rub over my cheek again, if I didn't imagined that. But why would I, I mean I didn't knew that my head was laying on her lap.

"I will bring you back to your hotel." I offer as she stands in front of me. That is the least thing I could do after I stopped her from getting back to the hotel with Lewis. He is probably laying in his hotel bed sleeping deeply. "No, you don't have to." She answers while typing on her phone. Wo is she texting? An Uber? A taxi?

"Really, it's no..." I want her to be save. When she continues to refuse I'm even willing to throw her over my shoulder and carry her to my car. "There you are!" A male voice says behind me. I know this voice. Lewis. I turn around. Yep, it is Lewis, what else would I have expected. For sure he waits for his little Birdie to be ready. It was a stupid thought to assume that he would have left without her. At least he didn't sat next to us and waited together with her for me to wake up. He stops next to Y/N and lays an arm around her shoulders, "You ready to go, Birdie?" Y/N hugs him from the side and just nods. They have a special bond, which you can obviously see. Be it the constant physical contact, in any kinda way, or the bright smile they both get when they see each other.
