The day of Billy's funeral was gray and overcast. Oakley stood among the crowd of mourners, his head bowed in grief. He couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt for what had happened. If only he had been able to reach out to Billy sooner, maybe things would have turned out differently.

As the ceremony began, Oakley's attention turned to Mia, who was standing near the front of the crowd. Her eyes were red and puffy, and her face was streaked with tears.

Oakley walked over to her and offered her a handkerchief. She looked at him with a mix of anger and sadness.

"I hated him. I always did. But he didn't deserve this," she said, her voice shaking with emotion.

Oakley nodded in understanding, but he couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility for Billy's death. If only he had reached out to him sooner, maybe things could have been different.

As the funeral procession began, Oakley watched as Billy's coffin was carried away. He felt a lump form in his throat as he realized that he would never have the chance to make things right with Billy.

He turned to Mia and spoke, "I should have done more. I should have tried to help him. This is all my fault."

Mia placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, "You couldn't have known, Oakley. It's not your fault. Billy had his own demons to deal with, and sometimes, we can't save everyone."

Oakley nodded, tears streaming down his face. He realized that he needed to forgive himself and let go of the guilt he was carrying. It was time to focus on the positive memories he had of Billy and move forward.

As the ceremony came to a close, Oakley and Mia said their final goodbyes to Billy. Oakley promised himself that he would never forget the lessons he had learned from this experience and would strive to be a better friend to those around him.
