"You remember when Lily Murdock almost found the cabin?"

I lift my head from the lantern in front of me and glance over at Will. "Yeah." I slowly answer. "What about it?"

Will shrugs. "I don't know. Just thinking." He mutters. I scoff quietly at him and look back at the lantern that is threatening me with its flickering light.

"Whatever, Will."

Tonight we're hiding out from the many agents and policeman in town. There is one agent I'd like to be here with us tonight but I made a promise.

I promised I wouldn't show anyone this place. It's a promise that holds up between just me and Will. No one else is involved because no one else knows this place is here.

When Will and I were little, we were being idiots and were wandering about the woods just out of town. There we found the ugliest cabin in the history of abandoned cabins.

No one has ever kicked us out of this ugly place, so we decided that it's ours.

"I think I'm going to go home soon." I admit as I pull away from the lantern. It goes out completely, probably for good.

There is no electricity or water running here, so our only source of light is these lanterns and occasional candles. We just lost one of our poor lanterns.

"Finn," Will groans, tossing his head back. "Dude, you said you'd stay with me." He reminds.

I chuckle. "You ate all the snacks." I gesture to the empty cooler. "I'm hungry."

"You'd rather go back to the inn that's filled with agents?" Will cocks his head back, unconvinced.

I shrug. "At least there's food."

Will sighs. "All right, how about I go back into town and get, like, a pizza." He offers with a short shrug. "Soda too."

I grin. "Well, if you're so kindly offering..."

Will smiles too as he shakes his head. He's already picking up his jacket from the back of the table chair across from me. "I'll be back." He hums as he turns to head for the door.

"Hey, pick up some crazy bread too." I quickly request before he leaves. Will glances over his shoulder at me with a smile, silently noting it.

We don't have much to work with.

At this point, there isn't too much we can do but continue to work up enough evidence to have probable cause so we can bring Kaden Murks in for more questions.

I can't tell what I think of him yet. There is no question that he's an ass, but is he a killer? I can't be sure. Not yet, at least.

Everyone has been instructed to simply get some sleep. There's not much we can do in the middle of the night, and we need fresh minds.

Problem is, I can't sleep.

Finn's truck isn't here. He's not at the inn, so I don't bother trying to knock on his door.
