Evie left early this morning. She was moving a little quick as she collected her things from the room, but she paused to give me a kiss before she left.

I don't think she left early because she wants to avoid me now, at least. Her phone on the little night stand rang which woke us up, it's the thing that started her speedy departure. Unfortunately, I didn't get to give her the rock shaped like Texas before she left. I'll have to do it later.

She said something about the police station, so I doubt she's going to the inn now. Maybe—Hopefully—she'll be there later today.

For now, I have something I need to do.

Before she left this morning, I asked Evie if I could do something. She smacked the back of my head when I asked, but she said I could. So, now I get to do it.

I stride down the hall with a smile on my face, happily heading down towards an officer. "Hiya," I grin sarcastically at him.

Officer Bardot narrows his eyes at me. "What do you want, Finn?" He grumbles. His wife was my sixth grade teacher, so he's known me for years now.

"I'm just gonna," I head towards the door he's guarding.

"Stop." He catches the collar of my jacket and tugs me back. I huff as I step back to look back at him. "You can't go in there."

"I have permission." I quickly offer. "From Agent Evie Hopkins—You met her, right?" I smile a little extra for him.

Officer Bardot scowls. "I'm not letting you in there, dumbass." He rudely dismisses.

"Wait, wait," I quickly reach into my jacket pocket and pull out my phone. I take out the card she gave me too, quickly making her a contact in my phone.

Officer Bardot rolls his eyes. "Finn," He warns me with an annoyed grumble. He's just mad he's standing here and not out giving some poor teen a ticket.

"No—Seriously." I insist, pressing the call button. "Just wait." I hold the phone up and step off to his side.

He scowls harsher as my shoulder bumps his. I slowly take a small step away.

"Hopkins." Evie answers on a deep sigh. She probably already knows who's calling and what for.

"Hi." I happily greet. I like having her number. "I need help." I inform, looking back at Officer Bardot with a smug smile. He shakes his head at me.

"Agent Evie Hopkins. I assume this is Officer Bardot—Unless he chose to skip his shift." Evie sounds bored as she speaks quickly. "Just let him in." She grumbles, dropping the niceties. "You need to stand in the room with him, but he won't be long. Right, Finn?"

"Ten seconds tops." I quickly agree.

"Are you serious?" Officer Bardot dryly questions, fully aware of how stupid this is.

Evie sighs. "Yeah."

"Please and thank you." I nod towards the door.

"Fine." Officer Bardot huffs, turning towards the door as he takes out a key. I guess they decided to lock Will in there for sure.

I grin widely. "Thanks, peaches." I hum happily. Evie grumbles under her breath in response, hanging up on me immediately.

"Will," Officer Bardot calls. "You've got a visitor, you little shit."

I practically skip on in. "Hi." I smile at him as I walk inside. Officer Bardot leaves the door open, standing in the doorway as I step over to the hospital bed.
