Sterling sat on the couch, watching Han walk in and out of the bedroom. His eyes glance at hers every now and then. He could see the hurt and anger in them. He was just too tired to speak to her, knowing another fight would possibly start. He was leaving to go on tour in a few days. He had asked if she wanted to come to keep up appearances, but she said no. She was sick of pretending. She just wanted her life to be normal again.
As Han left the bedroom, he stopped and looked at her. He could see she was fighting back tears. He wanted to comfort her but knew she wouldn't let him.
They had always been there for each other best friends since they were kids, but right now, they felt like enemies.

Let's go back to the beginning, shall we.
Han jisung was born in Incheon, South Korea, but moved to Malaysia when he was 8 as his father had gotten a job there.
He was a popular kid, a class clown.
Everyone wanted to be his friend.
That's where he met Sa-ling, she was a little shy thing, light brown hair and green oval eyes, her father was american and her mother was Korean , they had come to Malaysia for her parents work. She spent alot of her time to herself as she didn't look like the other girls.

2 years later:

One day, she was sitting in the playground alone, watching all the other girls fix their hair and makeup. She wanted to join in but was told she's not pretty enough, She was always bullied by the other girls, being called mail ordered baby.
Sa-long spent a lot of her time reading. It was her escape from the taunts and name calling.
That was till one day when the popular girls cornered her in the hallway.
"Look at her, no wonder her father had to buy a wife," the leader of the group said as she pushed her over.
"Leave me alone. iv done nothing to you," Sa-ling cried back as she tried to get up but was pushed down by another girl.
"No, why should we?" The leader said, standing on Sa-lings hand, making her cry out in pain.
"No one here likes you. Your father is so pathetic he had to buy a bride cos he couldn't find one of his own." They laughed as they pulled her hair.
Sa-ling just sat there as the girls picked at her. She wanted the ground to open up.
"Hey, leave her alone," a male voice said
"Jisung!! Oh, she fell over, and we were helping her up, " one of the girls said to the boy
"No, you were picking on her, I heard you," Jisung said as he helped Sa-ling up.
"Just leave her alone," he said to the leader as he stood in front of Sa-ling
"But look at her.."she started to say but was cut off by his hand.
He turned to Sa-ling and saw her hand was pretty red and swollen.
"You OK?" He asked he as they walked away.
She just nodded. It was the first time he had actually spoken to her. Their mothers worked together, and she had seen him at their office but never spoke to him.
"Thank you," she mumbled as she bent down to grab her bag and stuff that had been thrown over the floor.
Jisung bent down to help her.
"Why do they hate you?" He asked as he handed her some paper.
"I dunno," she whispered as she shoved the papers in her bag.
"Hey, some friends and I are going for ice cream after school, you want to come?" He said as they walked along the hall.
"Maybe next time," she replied as she walked away from him.
Why is he being nice? She wondered
Was he wanting to go out and humiliate me? She thought to her self as she walked home.

As Sa-ling opened her door, she could hear her mother humming away to herself.
"Hi mum," Sa-ling said as she walked into the kitchen.
"Hi dear, we have company coming over for dinner tonight. They're bringing their son with them, so please be nice," she said as she looked at the meal that was cooking on the stove.
"OK, I'll be in my room," Sa-ling said as she walked up the stairs.
About an hour later, as she was lying on her bed trying to figure out her maths problem, there was a knock on her door.
"Come in," she said, not looking up.
"Hi, may I come in," a voice said, making her turn to see Jisung standing in her doorway.
"Um sure," she said, confused.
"Your parents invited mine over for dinner, and your mum said you were up here," he said as he sat at the desk.
"Ah, I see," she said, sitting up. It was pretty awkward at first.
"I'm surprised you don't have Justin Beiber posters," he mumbled, looking at her room.
"No, not a fan of his music, I'm more a Taylor Swift fan," she responded, looking at him.
It was the first time she had actually looked at him properly. He had round cheeks and a cheeky smile. He was pretty cute in a dorky way.
"Guys, dinner," her mother yelled, breaking the silence.
As their parents chatted away about things, Sa-ling and Jisung just sat there eating their food.
"You look like a squirrel with your big cheeks full of food," Sa-ling giggled as she looked at him.
Both parents looked at him and laughed

"I guess you kinda do," his dad said, chuckling.
Jisung went kinda red for a second before smiling as well.

The following weeks, Sa-ling and Jisung were inseparable. Don't know what it was, but they were always just there.
She would help him with his homework, and he made sure no one made fun of her.

"Hey,jisung, I need to tell you something," Sa-ling said.
"What is it?he asked
"My mums been offered a job in Seoul, we leaving in a few weeks," Sa-ling said sadly
Jisungs face fell as he heard the news,
"You can't just leave," he said with a tear in his eye.
"I know, but its the promotion she always wanted," she said, hugging him.
"I'll miss you," he said as he hugged her back.
"Dude, we will always talk. There's such a thing as messenger," she laughed as he wiped his eyes.
"I know," he said. "we will talk every day"
