The only other person who could splice a wire beside Raven was Jasper. Clarke had tried to call for Jasper on the radio but Bellamy needed him on the battlefield. Leo would and should have very well been on the front lines but someone needed to protect the last lines of defense and now he was protecting the very person who was in charge of their survival. The one who'd make the weapons to kill the grounders.
In the end, Jasper was able to make it back to the camp with the mines helping a lot.
While Clarke and Jasper worked on the lower level to splice the wire, Leo stayed out of the dropship but never went too far. He watched over the gates on the guard tower post. His eyes focused on everything outside and inside of the camp, making sure that he'd know if a grounder were to make their way in.
The radio on Leo went off with multiple shouts–
"They've broken through!"
"There's hundreds of them! They're heading for the gate!"
Everyone was shouting the same thing.
Leo kept his grip on the gun, aiming out the gate and he saw them. He kept his breathing steady along with his grip, remembering what his father taught him. It was like second nature and his finger pushed against the trigger.
Gunfire went off.
Leo first shot at the close grounder then the further one beside that grounder. He made each shot count as he didn't miss a single one. His eyes quickly moved to see his far right where a grounder was near the walls. In an instant, his rifle moved in that direction and shot that grounder in the middle of its neck, making them fall to the ground.
Just as he was going to shoot again, fire was lit up in the sky, grabbing everyone's attention. The light was falling down at a quick speed.
"Don't tell me that's the Ark?" Leo whispered to himself upon seeing the figure in the sky. He wasn't a hundred percent certain but it sure as hell looked like it.
The entire night sky was lit up with the Ark falling down from the sky. It was clear and known that they were going to be having reinforcements on their side.
Suddenly, shouts and howls of what sounded like hyenas were heard. A large group of grounders were fighting another large group of other grounders.
"Are they fighting each other?" Leo watched from his post of the groups fighting with his weapon lowered.
Now that the grounders were focused on fighting the other group that just showed up, Leo turned around to see Finn hugging Clarke. He quickly jumped down the post, "You got it?"
