A Hero's Demon

Brotherly reunion

Coda's POV:
It's been roughly two months since we ended up in this world and living with the hero. She made me start attending this education program known as a school. There was a girl a grade above me at this school who'd constantly belittle me, beat me up and steal my lunch but after a while I taught her a lesson I'm not messing with me. Much to Emi's dismay I might add but at least I wasn't the one to attack first. Emi got a job in customer service and was allowed to work at home when ever I had off of school.

Emi: Coda, come here for a sec.

Coda: Yeah?

I ask and saw Rika was here.

Coda: Oh, you were serious about what you told me the other day.

Emi: Yup, now go sit in the bathroom so Rika can get started on you.

I sigh and walk into the bathroom taking a chair with me as Rika puts my head over the sink.

Coda: So is it true once we start this, there's no going back.

Rika: Yeah because this is mostly permanent.

She said as she was cleaning out my hair before putting the red hair dye in. After about an hour of doing this she was finally finished and looked in the mirror.

Rika: So what do you think?

Coda: I like it.

We then show Emi who also approved the hair color since it matches her.

Rika: So if I may ask, why did you want his hair red?

Emi: Well remember how I said he's adopted?

Rika: Yeah?

Emi: Well, this way he would feel more comfortable with me as his mom since less people might question it now.

Rika: Ah, I see. Well I better get going it was nice seeing you guys.

She said as we said our goodbyes and she left.

Emi: So there's something else I wanted to tell you and I was hoping to avoid this conversation but it's not right to you if I didn't tell you.

Coda: Oh god, please tell me they aren't canceling the Pokéture anime!

Emi: What? No. I was gonna tell you I know where your brother works and where he lives. We can have lunch where he works at.

She then takes me down to the local MgRonalds where he worked at and we see a girl in pig tails working there but the way she looked I didn't exactly believe she was human.

Coda: Are sure that's not a succubus?

I whisper to Emi who nudges my shoulder to be quiet.

Chiho: Welcome to MgRonalds how may I help you today?

The girl in pigtails asked.

Emi: I guess I'll take a Big Mig meal. So what do you want Coda?

Coda: Hmmm, I guess I'll try the happiness meal.

Chiho: Alright, coming right up.

She said as I noticed someone working at the fry station who looked a lot like my brother but check with Emi who says it is him. After getting our meals and I finish eating, I head back up to the front counter but this time a woman with dark blue hair and was taller than the last girl was standing at the front counter.

Mayumi: May I help you?

She said with a smile.

Coda: I'd like to speak with the manager.

Mayumi: That would be me.

She said and I realized that my brother the king of demons worked for a human.

Coda: Oh my bad I thought the guy at the fry station was the way he was instructing others abit. I'd like to speak with him real quick.

She then called him over as he looks at me.

Sadou: Hello, is there a prob-.

He stopped in the middle of his sentence realizing who I was.

Coda: Hello, brother.

After explaining my situation he invited me to his place after he finishes work. A few hours later I brought Emi with because he didn't specify if I was allowed to bring her or not. Emi knocks on the door but when Alciel thought it was just Emi he quickly locked the door.

Coda: I'm here too Alciel.

Sadou convinced him to unlock the door and lets us in.

Sadou: Ok first question I have is, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOUR HAIR?!

Coda: Well you see......

I said shyly being afraid to answer my brother.

Emi: I adopted him as my son as a cover up so that way things would be less suspicious. And to make him look more like he's my child we had his hair dyed red.

Alciel: And you let her do that to you Koragg?! Making yourself look similar to the hero is an insult to demon kind!

Sadou: Alciel settle down, it's not too big of a deal. Besides, now the three of us can live together.

Coda: Well......

I muttered silently not wanting to rain on his parade.

Emi: He is staying with me. As long as I'm considered his legal guardian he must live with me.

Alciel: And why would we trust the hero with the young prince?

Sadou: Dude, settle down. The only fair way is for Koragg to decide what he wants.

Coda: My human name is Coda by the way.

Sadou: Ok but who do you want to stay with?

He said and I actually didn't sense any malice from him which put me at ease abit.

Coda: I'm sorry big brother, but I choose to live with the hero for now. It's not that I hate you or anything it's just the living conditions aren't exactly for a child and I don't know why but I feel something when I'm around the hero. I feel safer for some reason.

Sadou: Well if that's your reason then that's that. I know you aren't trying to upset me kiddo just visit once in a while and we're all good.

He said as I hug him with tears in my eyes as he softly smiled and pat my head.

Sadou: Just remember, I love you little bro.

He said as he wiped my tears before Emi and I left to head back to our place with Emi letting me sleep in her bed tonight with her.
