A Hero's Demon

Nightmares

Coda's POV:
I was fast asleep in bed tossing and turning non stop and panicking. I was having a bad dream, I was surrounded by darkness with two figures staring down at me. One had purple hair and black angel wings and the other was an old, bald man in a robe.

???: What's wrong? I thought the brother of Satan was suppose to be a powerful Goliath. Not a weak little boy.

Said the one with the black angel wings knocking me to the ground as the old man hits me with a lightning spell in my dream.

???: Now you will perish and burn in the pits of hell where you came from.

He said as they both blast me and I woke up in a cold sweat in my bed. I look around nervously to make sure it was just a bad dream. This was the third time this week I had that dream and make my way over to Emi's room. I walk over to her and gently shake her awake.

Emi: Same nightmare again?

She asks as I nod and let's me under the covers with her. Ever since the other night when mom told me someone was trying to snipe her and my brother and I had to spend the night at Rika's, I was terrified thinking I might lose the ones I love and that I might be next. The next morning I got out of bed and went to get ready for school. I was waiting for the bus as Emi was watching from the apartment complex to make sure I got on ok. Just then I saw Jamie l, my old bully come over. We actually been getting along a bit better now.

Jamie: Dude, no offense but you look terrible.

Coda: What do you mean?

Jamie: The last few days you have been very tired and it is starting to show.

Coda: It's a long story but I've just not been having an easy time sleeping.

Jamie just nods as the bus arrives and we start getting driven off to school. A bit of time goes by and during my one class I was having trouble staying awake. My eyes started feeling heavy, my head laying on my arms on the desk until I was eventually out like a light in class.

Emi's POV:
I was in the office with Rika and after getting a threatening phone call I started worrying abit about Coda.

Rika: You ok Emi?

Emi: Just a little worried about Coda. What if something happens while he is at school.

Rika: Don't worry. What could possibly go wrong?

Emi: Did you really just ask that?

I ask and as if by magic my cellphone started ringing and saw it was a call from the school.

Emi: Hello?

Principal: Yea, is this Ms.Yusa?

Emi: Yes, is everything alright?

Principal: We would like you to come pick up your son as soon as possible due to him falling asleep in class.

I sigh and let him know I'm on my way.

Rika: What happened?

Emi: Coda fell asleep in class.

Rika: Is he alright?

Emi: I think I know why but I gotta go.

I said as I informed my boss of the situation and headed out.

Coda's POV:
Emi had just arrived into the office to pick me up and I couldn't even look at her because I was so ashamed in myself. She then started walking out of the school with me and I was just silent.

Emi: Listen, I'm not mad at you.

Coda: You're not?

I ask confused and look at her.

Emi: It's about those dreams, isn't it?

I only look down before nodding in response.

Emi: Well how about you and I take a bus to the mall and you can tell me in more detail about your dream.

I nod and hold her hand as we took a bus to the mall nearby. We sat at a table as she looks at me.

Emi: So, you ready to tell me?

Coda: I've been having these dreams about these two guys completely obliterating my loved ones. One I'm pretty sure was General Lucifer but the old man in the robe I have no idea who he could be.

I notice her expression change when I brought up Lucifer and gives me a serious look.

Emi: Any chance that he came to this world?

Coda: Honestly, he probably did.

Emi: But I thought I killed him.

Coda: Trust me, the dude has more lives than a video game character.

Emi: This old guy you mentioned, what exactly did he look like?

Coda: He was bald, had grey eyebrows, a grey mustache, silver eyes and a blue and white robe with a gold lining.

Emi: That kind of sounds like.....no it couldn't be.

Coda: Couldn't be who? Please tell me.

Emi: Olba, he's from the church back in Ente Isla. If you ever see him be sure to keep your distance from him.

Coda: If I can I'll try mo- I mean Emi.

I said almost calling her mom when I didn't need to. How close am I getting to the hero? Am I getting too attached to her? We then see Alciel acting a bit suspicious but turns out he was watching my brother go on a date with that girl from the MgRonalds.

Coda: Ok I love my brother and all but how the hell did he score a date with a girl?

Emi: Your guess is as good as mine kid. You wait here while I try to talk her out of it.

Coda: Don't mind me, I don't want any part of the drama.

As if on cue Alciel got closer too. As I was watching this all unfold everything start to shake as the mall started to cave in. I tried to run to Emi and the others but as I was doing so a huge chunk of rubble landed on me before I was surrounded in complete darkness.

Emi, Sadou and Ashia: CODA!!!!!
