"ba- Chris" you shout from downstairs, Chris is your boyfriend and he hates pet names like, baby, love and everything a couple calls each other.
but meanwhile you love to use them it shows that their yours and nobody else's but you had to change that for Chris.
"Hey y/n/n" he says with a smile on his face, "did you just wake up?" you laugh and Chris just nods his head.
"can we go now" Chris asks like a little kid, rubbing his eyes.
"no go get ready" You say as you shoo him away.
"please" Chris says pouting, "you've got to get ready then we can go"
"fine" Chris swings his arms up and down as he stomps away.
half an hour later Chris is ready "baby" he says making you turn your head quickly confused.
"lets go" he says obviously not noticing what he's just said.
now you may think oh that's not a big deal well it is, when y/n and Chris got together Chris was always so dramatic about pet names he said 'they make me feel stupid' and every time y/n would call him baby or love by accident he would ignore her till she said his name.
"Baby?" Chris looks at you confused looking himself up and down, questioning his outfit.
"Chris" you say his name and his head shoots up, "yes"
"did you hear what you just said" you ask still confused
"yeah I said, let's go" you smile shortly and laugh to yourself before standing up and grabbing the car keys.
you and Chris arrive at McDonalds, "do you wanna go through the drive-through?" you ask looking at the still half asleep Chris, "okay" he says yawning.
before you go into the drive-through, Chris taps you on the arm, you turn to him "yes"
"Why did you question me before" you look at him confused "question you?" you laugh
"yeah you went, 'baby?'" he says as he mocks your voice.
"because you called me it" Chris shakes his head quickly "no I did-" he stops
"it just slipped out okay" Chris says putting his hands up in defence.
you laugh "okay"

"can I call you it though" Chris says shyly putting his head down and keeping his voice low
"call me what" you saying knowing what he wants to call you.
"baby" this time as he says it so low you can almost not hear it.
"of course you can Christopher" Chris straightens his back and acts all tough like he wasn't just whispering before.
he clears his throat "same for you"
you smile and look at him "I thought you hated pet names"
"I do" he pauses and looks down "but I love you"
you smile widely "you what"
"you know what y/n" you smile and laugh "I love you too" you pause "I guess"
Chris looks up at you with a straight face "wow okay" he goes to open the car door but you quickly lock it, "I'm joking"
"I know but I want to hear you say it properly" he looks up at you.
"I love you Chrissy wissy"
Chris rolls his eyes "y/n what the fuck"
you smile "what" Chris smiles and shakes his head slowly.
"baby" you say
"yes" Chris says as he looks up at you
"nothing I just wanted to say it and hear you answer to it"
