3~ the meeting

narrator pov

"so this is the demon slayer corps huh? its beautiful!" y/n exclaimed. she was absolutely bewildered by it, all the flowers, mini fountains and the constant chirping of birds made a very pleasant atmosphere. "mhm! now we have to call a hashira meeting to make aware that you're here!" rengoku replied in his usual cheery manner. "h-hashira? whats that?" y/n asked to which the answer was "the highest rank in the corps.. dumbass"
'goddam i knew these guys were strong, but highest rank strong?? well lucky for them they got some stiff competition if they wanna spar with me' y/n thought to herself, satisfied with her conclusion.

suddenly, out of nowhere, a gorgeous jet black crow came swerving down towards the trio, elegantly perching on rengokus shoulder. just then the crow spoke up, as it and rengoku made conversation. y/n stood absolutely flabbergasted, pinching herself to make sure this is real. "caw! the hashira meeting will take place in 35 minutes caw!" and just like that the crow flew away. "well you heard the crow lets get going!" rengoku shouted and started to walk away with sanemi when y/n grabbed their arms and pulled them to a hault. "woaahh hold your horses there buddy, are we just going to ignore the fact you were talking to a crow?!" y/n called out, still trying to process the whole ordeal. "what, youve never seen a talking animal before?" sanemi sneered sarcastically. y/n , not quite getting the sarcasm, replied "no?! of course not!" to which the two hashiras laughed at and began to walk away again, subsequently making y/n groan and follow suit.

mini time skip

"welcome my children, i guess you wonder why we have been gathered here today. well, i leave that honor up to kyojuro and sanemi." ubuyashiki steps aside as the two stand up to announce their news. "thank you oyakata-sama. well i guess theres no other way to put it than we have found who possesses the blue spider lily within them." sanemi declares. as if on queue, a number of gasps sound. "that true eh? well, where is he?" tengen bellows, clearly unbelieving of this 'news'. "haha patience uzui-san! she's coming as we speak." says rengoku as enthusiastically. 'she?!' mitsuri thought excitedly as she visibly bounced up and down.

just then a shockingly beautiful woman walked from out the shrine the slayers were gathered around. all the hashiras were gobsmacked at her otherworldly appearance- amazed at her graceful sunlike glow that surrounded her- almost as if she was the sun itself. her hair was littered with beautiful little flowers woven into her strands.
y/n stood awkwardly in front of the staring pillars, fidgeting with the cloth of her floral kimono supplied by the corps.

to interrupt the silence, ubuyashiki cleared his throat and began his introduction. "good morning young lady, may i please know your name?" he asked, y/n astonished at his instantly calming voice. "y/n, y/n l/n" she responded, bowing her head. she felt disrespectful if she was to prolong her stare at his somewhat distorted face. she wondered what must have happened to him. "ah i see, what a wonderful name indeed. as you may have heard, my name is kagaya ubuyashiki however many of my children call me oyakata-sama. i hope my family treated you well?" he spoke calmly. y/n was being taken care of (in other words pampered) by kagayas wife, that's why she was late to the hashira meeting. "yes! very well thank you!" y/n spoke happily, smiling gleefully. all the hashiras inwardly awed at her smile, taken aback by the tireless joy on her face. 'how can one person just be so.. cute??'

"im happy to hear it, y/n. now to move onto the purpose of the meeting, i want to get you acclimatised to the rest of the pillars, as of course you will be spending all of your time with them."
'all of my time? the heck does he mean by that?' y/n thought quizzically, though shrugging it off fairly quickly.

"as you already know, kyojuro is our flame pillar and sanemi is our wind pillar." kagaya continued, kyojuro shining a quick smile at y/n in which she returned. "next are the love and insect pillars, kanroji mitsuri and shinobu kocho." the two girl pillars greeted her shyly, gushing at y/n's adorable reaction to FEMALE hashiras.
'theres girls here?? WOOHOO!! im not gonna be lonely!' she thought.

"over there is giyuu tomioka, the water hashira, iguro obanai, the serpent hashira, and tokito muichiro, the mist hashira." the three only merely glanced at her before looking away awkwardly. y/n almost took offence to this before deciding they just nervous. nevertheless she waved at them, not receiving one back.

"finally the stone pillar- gyomei himijima and the sound pillar- uzui tengen." kagaya declared.

"well arent you a lovely little lady hmmm?" tengen said charmingly, striding over to her. he then reached out his hand to cup her cheek as she looked up at him wide-eyed in complete confusion. "yep! you'll fit right in with my other three wives!" tengen announces, letting go of her face and patting her head.

before y/n could even react, she could sense the immense outrage emitting from the rest of the pillars. this rendered her speechless, until she got a hold of herself so she could shout at uzui. "you cant just go and decide that! you dont even know me! and you have THREE wives?? THREE?!" y/n exclaimed, slightly melodramatic to emphasise her point.

"that's enough my children, thats enough." kagaya uttered, this time his voice slightly more stern. "yes oyakata-sama." the hashira muttered in unison, bowing their heads respectively.

"now as i may carry on, y/n will obviously need to be monitored constantly by trusted members of the corps. she is vulnerable- especially at night time. during the day she is free to do as she pleases except when i would like shinobu to see her. shinobu, when possible i would like regular tests and check-ups performed on her to make sure she is always fit and healthy." kagaya stated nonchalantly.

"yes oyakata-sama!" the hashira shouted in unison again, agreeing without second thought. 

it took y/n a little moment to comprehend it all.
