Chapter 1: passing by

(reminder: this is my first story so please forgive any mistakes I make)

Yoimiya's POV

*knock knock*
"Who's there?" I asked, as I tied my hair.
"Your highness, your father has to speak to you." one of my maids replied.
"Tell him I will be there in 5 minutes." I said.
"Yes, your highness." The maid replied then left.

I continued to do my hair until I was ready to meet my father. I opened the door from my room and went to the meeting room.

"Hello father, I have missed you." I said as I sat down on the luxurious and fancy chair.
"Hello Yoimiya, my daughter, I have missed you too." My dad replied in a serious tone.
"..."
"Uhm-"
"What have you called me here for today?" My try at an attempt to break the silence.
"Well I should get straight to the point. I am turning old now and currently have no heir... It is time for you to get a husband now."

He's back at it again, trying to get me to marry a prince. I'm used to it now, he always makes me go see them but I never had interest in any of them. I've probably meet over 300 of those prince!

"Don't worry Miya, I already have it all planned out, you will meet him today!" Ryuunosuke said. Wait a minute... what?! I almost chocked on my tea.
"I've never even seen him!" I yelled.
"So that is why you're meeting him today, Miya." My dad said almost sounding like he's proud.
"You always make me do this! Can't I just pick who I want to marry?" I shouted, with bit of anger.
"Naganohara Yoimiya! You can't talk to your father like that!" My father yelled while he banged his fist to the table.
"... yes father." I replied with annoyance.
"You will meet him today at 4:00 pm so get ready, now!" He said, trying to calming down.
"Yes father.." I replied.

I ran to my room, with anger. I can't believe he keeps making me do this! I was tired of all of it!

"Why can't he just let me be? What if I don't wanna marry a prince?" I thought as I fell face first onto my bed.
"Well, I don't really have a choice do I?" I said out loud.

I walked to my huge closet full of clothes my dad had brought for me. I picked out the prettiest one I could find and tried it on.

"1:30 pm? I can just squeeze in a quick nap can I?" I thought to myself, yawning as I didn't sleep much last night.

[timeskip to 1:57 pm]

"Yoimiya! Wake up, it's time to meet the prince, get to the carriage." Somebody suddenly shouted my name.
*yawns* "fineee..." I whined as I got up.

I walked downstairs to see a carriage waiting for me. I walked up to it and opened the door. I hopped on and the carriage started driving. We had to go from the Northeast to the Southeast, that is a really long drive!

[timeskip - 1hr later]

It has been an hour already. It's currently 3:01 pm right now. But just about 5 minutes later, we were going through a city.

"Wait, is this Inazuma City?" I asked, I was surprised to see it.
"Yes, your highness, this is Inazuma City." The driver replied.

You might ask, if I am a princess that lives in Inazuma, why was I surprised to see the city? One answer is that my dad usually never lets me go outside. I always go into the backyard and secretly make fireworks. The only times my dad lets me go outside is when I was meeting one of those princes.

"Woah, it's really big!" I exclaimed excitedly.
"Yes, this is a very big city, your highness." The driver replied again.

I was amazed by how it looked, I took a peek outside the window for a better view. Suddenly, I spotted a girl.
She had sky blue hair, with dark blue eyes, her skin looked pale but smooth, she was helping a woman get up.
My heart, it was beating faster every second I was looking at her.
Why? What is this feeling? Was this normal? I stopped looking and took a breath.

"Okay Yoimiya, calm down." I told myself that.

Ayaka's POV

"Lady, are you okay?" I asked the lady that was on her knees.
"Y-yes! Thank you so much your highness!" The lady went on to thank me.
"No need to thank me." I replied, while helping her pick her things up as well.

I turned around to see a girl, in a carriage, looking at me.
She had blonde hair, that was tied into a bun, she had pretty hazel eyes.
The girl was looking right at me, it was until I realized that she was a princess as well, her name, if I remembered it correctly, it was Naganohara Yoimiya, she was also from the North.

I looked at her carriage leaving, I had this feeling, it was weird, I never knew anything like this..

"Is this love?" I asked myself. I never knew what it felt like, the only form of love I knew at that time was the brotherly love, the love my brother always showed me.
I tried to get it off my mind, I felt like it was gonna be a waste of time.
I called over my carriage, I got inside as quick as possible inside. My mind though, was still thinking girl I had just saw going pass. "What a beauty she was." I thought.
