Teaching Sam to Read: Sam X OC

A month after the events of seduce me 1 (Third person point of view):

Sam watches from the dining room archway listening in on James teaching Damian how to read and write. Sam would join in but he just feels like James or his brothers would criticize and judge him the whole time. He then remembers that like his brother James, Sidney is an avid reader herself. She literally will be in bed for days on end if she gets sucked into a book she really likes. She describes it as a hyperfixation hole, as Sam will literally have to pry the book from her hands so she will eat if she is really sucked into a story. "Should I ask her? I mean, I do need to learn it if I'm gonna be living on this plain. I don't want to be dependent on her if I can help it." He turns away from the doorway and groans as he makes his way up the stairs to his girlfriend's room.

He makes his way down the hall to her room seeing the door cracked open. As he opens it he is met with the sight of Sidney in a slouchy shirt that is lopsided to one shoulder exposing her lacy bralette strap, sweat pants, red curly hair in a messy bun, and her glasses over her eyes that are focused on the page in front of her. Though out of her peripheral vision, she noticed a movement towards the door and she looked up at Sam.

"Oh hey Sam, what's up? Probably should go and drink some water should I?" She greets.

"Um, nothing much really. Wait have you not been drinking any water again, Doofus we talked about that." He says giving her a slightly shocked expression.

"I know, this book is just so good I can hardly put it down. I literally didn't realize how thirsty I was until you showed up. Needed a tiny break anyways." She says getting up from her bed to go downstairs as she heads towards Sam.

"Well come on we can talk while you make yourself lunch and get something to drink."

"Hehe, okay Sam." She says with a smile.

They make it downstairs to the kitchen Sidney starts herself some tea and quickly takes an Ibuprofen for her headache from dehydration, and pops some food in the microwave. She looks at Sam who is leaning against the counter across from her. She noticed Sam had a weird expression on his face like he wanted to ask something.

"Mari, what's on your mind?" She asks facing him and leaning against the counter behind her.

"Promise not to laugh at me?" Sam asks in reply.

"Why would I laugh at you, Sam? Come on it can't be that bad. I pinky promise, I won't laugh." She says walking towards him wrapping her pinky around his, making him smirk a little bit at the gesture. "Damn she's so cute," He lets out a sigh.

"It's really embarrassing but....UGH, here it goes. I.. don't know how to read or write. Being the third son I wasn't really on the priority list for tutors. Only James and Erik know how to, well I think Matthew does a little. His mom was fixated on the idea that he was the true heir to the throne. I mean my mom tried to but I would just get really frustrated so I gave up. I know being in the Human World now I'll have to learn eventually. I would ask James but we both know me and him would just start yelling at each other. So I... was wondering if maybe... you could help me?" He asks a little nervous.

"Sam, of course, I would love to teach you. Don't be mad but Erik actually already told me, so I thought to buy some workbooks to help you eventually. I would have offered but I knew it would be a sore subject, If you want I would be more than happy to pull one out and we could start on it. You had nothing to be embarrassed about." Again it's like he just got slapped in the face with her kindness and just thoughtfulness.
