"Y/n, please. You know you want to join." Karl pleaded with me as he set up his stream. He invited me to play Among Us with himself and a few others. I only knew two people who were joining, Karl and Chandler.

"Just join the game. You need to make more friends." Chandler told me.

"Wow, thanks for that. Love you too." I said sarcastically. Although, deep down, I knew that he was right.

"Fine, I'll join," I said.

"Yes. I promise I'll introduce you to everyone. They'll love you." Karl said.

I just sighed and muted myself as Karl started his intro. I went to go get a drink from the kitchen. Thankfully, John was at work.

Nobody knows about what has been happening behind closed doors. The trauma I'm put through. But it's okay. I know he doesn't mean to hurt me.

I come back to my setup and unmute myself when I hear a couple people talking.

I just listened to their banter for awhile, Karl, someone named Sapnap, Quackity, and Foolish were joking around. Chandler was doing his own thing at his house, probably scrolling through TikTok.

"Oh, who just joined?" The emoji for Foolish lit up, which indicated it was him who was talking. Everyone else went silent.

Karl came to my rescue, "Guys, this is y/n, Chandler's sister. She streams with me sometimes. She's super nice."

"Hi," I timidly said.

"Hello, mamacita. I'm Quackity. Would you like to try some drugs?"

I try to contain my laughter, but fail. "What the hell?"

"Just ignore him. I'm Sapnap. He was dropped on his head as a child."

"Yup. It explains a lot." Quackity agreed with him.

More and more people joined until we had a full party. Karl informed me that we would be playing proximity chat. I internally groaned. Couldn't I have some peace and quiet for once?

The game started and crewmate appeared on my screen. I smiled and went to do my tasks. I went from cafeteria to do card swipe. I finished it fairly quickly and went to electrical, which in hindsight is never a good idea.

Foolish came up a few seconds later and did some tasks with me. "Hey, y/n, right?" He asked.

"Yeah, and you're Foolish." I said.

"Yup. How come I've never heard of you?" He asks.

"I mostly keep to myself. I've been in a couple of Jimmy's videos, but I don't like to be thrown in the spotlight a lot. That's why I never do face cam on my streams. I also don't have that large of a following, so that's probably why."

"Oh, that makes sense. It can get a little crazy once people start to recognize you in public. It's weird to have so many people know and look up to you."

"Yeah," I say as the lights were turned off.

"I'll go get it," Foolish says happily.

Not long after he said that, Quackity hopped out of a vent.

"N-" I start to say as my character is killed. Quackity quickly hopped back into the vent. Foolish fixed the lights and cane back to where we were only to find my dead body." He gasped and reported it.

"Who just killed my new best friend?" He questioned.

"Forget that. Who killed my husband?!" Quackity fake cried into the microphone.

"Why, hello fellow ghost," Karl greeted me.

"I didn't know Quackity was your husband," I joked.

"Well, I didn't know that Foolish replaced me as your best friend."
