I sit inside my office staring at my laptop glancing over at my mini notebook every now and then about the interview I had with Scarlett.

I look up at the desk to the right of the outside of my office and notice Valentina is still not here. I tilt my head confused and check the time on the clock at the top of the door to my office.

8:30am she's late...again.

It's been about three days and each day she's late I've been letting it slide cause I can understand but it's been a while. The elevator door dings open as she uses her pointer finger to push her glasses up and hurries to her desk taking everything she needs out of her purse.

I make my way out of my office and look at her as she gets everything out and turns to look at me. Her eyes tell me how she feels, sorry.

"Valentina, look you've been late lately and I completely understood the first few times but this is the fourth time what's happening? I mean like is it traffic, not waking up early enough, just what's going on?"

Oh lord, I sound like a fucking six grade teacher scolding her student.

I look at her worriedly as she tries to put together her words, "Amelia I'm so so sorry I've just been going through a lot recently." I make an "oh" sound and tilt my head. "It's okay I completely understand if I may know what's going on?"

She hesitates for a second before she decides to tell me. "I had been falling too behind on rent for my apartment and got evicted," she says looking down into her lap playing with her hands ashamed.

I nod my head and suddenly think of an idea to help her out making me smile.

"What if.." I start off smiling making her pop her head up toward me. "What if you move in with me?" I suggest to her. She looks at me puzzled before her lips turn from a frown into a smile. "Lia I appreciate that but I wouldn't be able to afford to pay rent especially since you probably live in a mansion."

I chuckle a bit thinking of her actually paying me "Val you wouldn't have to pay a dime as long as you help me out with my work schedule and keep everything clean I'm fine."
