How much time must pass before something is no longer considered impulse? Because Beomgyu doesn't think that's what this is, storming in the direction of the nearby village and ignoring Soobin's frantic questions as he tries to grab Beomgyu's arm.

He's being rational, in his opinion. He has every right to be pissed. Yeonjun's a joke—a joke that spent the night cuddled up to Beomgyu last only to drop something like this. Stupid, pathetic alpha.

He hates him. He hates him—he deserves to be shouted at and embarrassed in front of all of his clan. Deserves to be embarrassed by an omega, an opposing omega, yelling at him.

One brave enough to breach the borders of separated villages even if it risks his life.

Okay, so maybe he's not rational if he's prepared to risk his life, but Beomgyu's never been the smartest person when he's angry. He prefers to act rash.

After a few failed attempts, Soobin successfully latches onto him and the omega involuntarily spins round to face him, planting his feet on the ground before he accidentally collides with Soobin.

His eyes are like fire and Soobin almost lets go of him out of fear. His brows rise and eyes widen. Innocent and shocked.

He's confused as to why Beomgyu's so upset. His best guess is that it's about Kwangsoo keeping him out of plans again, but Beomgyu usually rants to him first when it's over that, not deadly silent and on a mission.

"Where are you going?" Soobin's chest heaves, winded from catching up with Beomgyu. Heart pounding and breath ragged.

He might be an alpha, but a determined omega is hard to keep up with. And this is Beomgyu, which only makes things worse, even if Soobin is more athletically inclined. Supposedly.

He stares at Beomgyu as he waits for an answer.

Without a word, Beomgyu harshly brushes Soobin's hand off where it's latched onto his arm and turns around again, not allowing the elder to slow him down with unnecessary questions.

He has nothing to do with this and Beomgyu doesn't owe him an explanation.

"Beomgyu!" Soobin calls out from where he's standing before he jogs after him. He's pretty sure he's already broken his daily exercise goal and it's not even that far into the day. "If you talk to me, I can help. I'll talk to your dad again... get him to change his mind."

Beomgyu quickens his pace, stones skipping away from his angry feet as he inadvertently kicks at them on his way down the cobblestone path.

Soobin's has little impact on his dad's decisions, how's he meant to help him when Beomgyu fails to understand his anger too? It's not aimed at his dad either. He's moving with little reason other than his irritation and jealousy spiking, and the answer to why that's happening is unknown to him too.

Still, he lacks the ability to care. Yeonjun didn't care to tell him about his planned courting and Beomgyu's owed that after Yeonjun scented him. Scented him like he didn't have any hopeful omegas waiting on him at home.

What's he trying to do, expand his options?
Beomgyu snorts bitterly at the thought and heads down a trail the opposite direction of the village hall where Kwangsoo's meeting is taking place.

Soobin stops in his tracks, staring at the building blankly, confused. His eyes switch to Beomgyu who's pace hasn't faltered once, not even when he surely senses the alpha's presence no longer trailing behind.

A few seconds pass as he pieces things together, eyes flickering along the now dusty carpet of yellow under his feet.

He lifts his head, Beomgyu's almost out of sight but he can catch up to him without much difficulty if he goes now.
