Hastinapur, Gajasahrya
Arjun's POV
The tinge of the familiar name was difficult to be unnoticed.
He was, BharadvajSut Dron? How come I failed to recognize him, even after hearing about him, countless times from our Kulguru Kripacharya? How he spoke fondly of him, there wasn't a single day spent in his ashram he hadn't remembered him. From his prowess to him being the revered student of Bhagwan Parshuraam; how did I make such a folly?
Knowing or unknowingly, I had developed a certain urge of coming across such a figure, if for once in my lifetime.
"Arjun, BharadvajSut." Bhrata Bheem's whispering hauled me out of the trance, my orbs landed upon the saffron cladded figure that marched in with his sleek weapon, while an overwhelmed Pitamah fell in his embrace. "Your dream came true, isn't it?" I passed a pursed smile to my brother, who returned the same, too unable to control his urge to express his glee. The Kauravs whispered amidst themselves, them too trying to fathom the fact that BharadvajSut Dron was the one they had collided with.
"Who else, my dear friend, who else can be better than you?" Pitamah chuckled once again, pulling BhradvajSut in another embrace, "That's my fortune indeed, Gaangey that you deemed me of this capability."
"You're hilarious Dron, only you can make a diamond shine brighter than what it is."
There hidden ways of speech caused a wave of confusion sweep between us. Pitamah had his ways, definitely. It appeared as if something more it was too it other than introducing us to the BharadvajSut at this afternoon in a hasty manner. The way his eyes shone, presumed a different tale. Pitamah didn't for a moment did halt himself when he heard about his arrival, immediately gathering all riches he had went to greet him, as was speculated by all.
A tiny flame of hope began to surge in my heart, a sense of anticipation as a guess crossed my mind about it.
"My dear sons," Pitamah began, his oceanic eyes beaming with delight, "Consider yourself immensely fortunate my sons, for none other than BharadvajPutra has agreed to be your guide and teacher."
An instant gasp left our lips, of excitation. BharadvajSut as our Guru? Bhrata Bheem held my shoulder delightfully as I cupped my mouth in awe, widening my eyes and glancing at him. From the other end, Jyesth and the twins were grinning at each other, while I was having difficulty in removing my gaze from our teacher. About whose prowess I had heard, in an instant he was our Gurudev?
It was difficult to presume it even as a reality, my heart thudded faster than it could.
"Show your respect and devotion for your Gurudev, from now on, his words should be reflected your deeds my sons." Pitamah nodded gleefully, patting his shoulder gently as he strode out of the chamber, leaving us alone with BharadvajSut, rather our Gurudev.
"Never did I wonder we would meet again, sons of Bharat lineage." His hoarse voice began as he strolled along with a calm smile on his face, his hands behind his back, "Your Pitamah has entrusted me, entrusted me with your care and training."
"Pranaam Gurudev."
"Kalyanamastu, sons." He blessed fondly, glancing at the hundred and five of us, "It is my pleasure to be in the service of Hastinapur. And as I have heard, Hastinapur is a city which never denies any plea." His tone certainly became grim, making my eyebrows furrowed.
"And when the valorous Raajkumaars of Hastinapur would be my fellow students, I can presume I can be assured of the plea I seek," He continued, his lashes lowered as he glanced at the palace floor, yet striding forward and back. A surge of confusion swept passed me; what plea is he supposedly speaking about? Bhrata Bheem gave a slight shrug as I exchanged a perplexed glance with him. Even the other brothers anticipated the same, "Plea, Gurudev?" One of them spoke.
