Papito was the only Alvarez who didn't know I was pregnant. Though, I've been very obvious, holding my stomach, peeing every 20 minuets and ready pregnancy books, but he was a teenage boy so I wasn't suprised he hadn't picked up the news. been avoiding the conversation, it was silly. But I was afraid that he might think that he might be upset since he was the baby of the family.

"Papito" I say knocking on his door. I heard a grunt as a reply so I assumed it was safe to go in.

"Hey xo" alex turned his head to look over his shoulder, he was playing a little game on his gaming system.

"Pause that for a bit, I need to talk to you" I plonked down on his bed and pulled one of his pillows over my stomach.

"Ugh" alex grabbed his remote and turned the sound off as well as pausing.

"Yes, I know ugh" I mocked the kid.

"Whats up" he turned his chair to look at me. I took a deep breath, pulling the pillow off my belly, which was protruding at this point.

Alex didn't notice, he was just staring blankly at my face.
I roled my eyes and grabbed his hand and yanked him forward, putting his hand where my child was kicking.

I watched papitos face slowly contort, trying to understand the thoughts racing through his mind right now.

"What" alex shudders out, brows furrowed to a touch and his eyes squinted.

"I'm having a baby papito" I whispered, the words came out of my mouth as my unborn child gave a massive kick to my stomach.

"I'm going to be a tio? I'm going to be a tio!" Alex pulled back taking off his head set and jumping out of his chair.

Running for the door screaming "I'm going to be a tio!"

I laughed and giggled as I eased up from the bed and waddling to follow him.

Still screaming, he scared the living shit out of Elena and mami who were sitting at the dinning table.

"I'm going to be a tio, dale bonita dale ay ay" he started dancing, grabbing my hands and pulling me with him. He twirls me around, abuelita put on some old cubana music from the 60s. She sings along and grabs the girls from the table.

"Family just getting bigger" Elena laughed, holding mamis hand as she spun her.

"We got you" abuelita said as we all ended up in the middle, all huddled up and swaying to the music.

"And we got you too little one" mami said rubbing my belly.

These are the kind of moments I could've use while I was deployed.
