His hands were on me, stroking my hair and caressing my back.
I knew this couldn't last, and for some reason it saddens me.
Carter had been assigned to play the part of Mr Sylar, I had no idea that ...
"I know your awake." He whispered softly.
"Carter." I started rolling up onto my elbow.
Something caught my eye, something gold and shiny he was playing with it sliding on and off his ring finger, a wedding ring.
"What's that?" I asked surprised by the faint hurt I felt.
"A promise I couldn't keep." He said and removed the ring placing it on the bedside table.
"I can't do this." The words were out of my mouth before I could think them through.
"What! Why?" He groaned "you felt it too I know you did. And last night was..." He sighed.
"Amazing." I finished his sentence "carter I don't want to be the other woman."
"But I... You... Please." Pain filled his features and I placed my hand in the side of his face affectionately.
"I know." I said softly then slid out of bed to the bathroom.
"Your welcome to join me." I said before closing the door.
"Myra if I do I'm afraid I won't ever me able to leave." He murmured softly pained.
I wave of guilt hit me and I turned away tears welling in my eyes and fled for the bathroom, closing the door behind me.
I turned on the hot water and removed my clothes stepping into the beautiful hot water caressing my neck, shoulders and back warming my insides.
There were two little hotel shampoo and conditioner bottles on the shower shelf, I picked them up and inspected the label convinced it wasn't anything disputing I squirted some into my hand rubbed it into my hair.
Reluctantly I turned off the water and covered myself with a towel I heard a knock on the door, making sure my towel was fastened I opened the bathroom door.
"Yes thank you." I heard carter say another man murmured a no problem sir and the door closed.
"Who was that?" I asked carter turned to look at me and his breath caught, I realised what I would look like standing in the middle of the room practically naked.
I shifted uncomfortably under his gaze.
"The manager." He mumbled
"What did he want?" I asked curiously going past him to my suitcase picking up my undergarments off the floor as I went.
"He came up to give Aaron this." He said handing me a small red velvet box "it was planned down to the second."
Running my hands over the box I opened it and my draw dropped. Sitting in the cushion was a beautiful Dimond ring.
"Oh my... It's beautiful." I said sobs brewed and I looked away.
Re living a past I only want to forget,
Jeremy was on one knee holding a small black box an adoring smile on his face, "Myra will you..." He started
"Yes yes oh my yes..." I sobbed happiness consuming me.
A gun fired, I screamed.
His eyes widened and he clasped at his chest, blood spewing out of his mouth. I fell to my knees, looking up too the end of the street people were screaming and running for cover but I couldn't see them. All I could see was the man in black, gun in hand. And just like that, he was gone.
And I was left there watching the only person I've ever loved die.
"Myra?... Myra!" Carter shouted shaking me "your crying." He said whiping my tears away with a feather light kiss.
I pulled back, the crack in my heart growing into a creator.
"I need to see Lilian." I snapped stepping into my dress.
"Lilian?" He inquired confused.
" I've made a big mistake." I hissed going to my bag, seeing the orange pill container
I grabbed my shoes and fled for the door.
Waiting for the elevator, I opened the pill box and tipped them into my hand.
I could feel them beginning to work. My feelings cut off, and with the ding of the elevator brought me back I stepped in.
And just like that I was empty cold, and determined.
