"He's stable." Samantha said removing her facial mask.
I looked up and nodded sharply in her direction.
There was frantic beeps coming from the computer.
He must have woken again, he shouldn't be fighting the anaesthetic so well. I rose to my feet walking around the table to the glass office door.
"Samantha." I called out.
"Dr you have to see this." She hissed at me. There was a sense of urgency in her tone that caused a slight jump in my heart rate.
The beeping increased in speed,
"Lydia quickly?!" Cameron called to me.
I then ran, sprinting to the window above the room where patient 121 is being kept.
I gasped, at the sight. Subject 121 was convulsing rapidly his muscles contracting and expanding all at once, his back Arching off the table with every convolution.
"Is he seizing ?" I asked.
"No, that's the thing. His brain is still calm, it's as though he's asleep."
"That can't be." I hissed snatching the iPad off of Cameron. But he was right, his brain activity was completely normal not a single drop or rise.
"His heart rate is soaring, and the convulsions are now three seconds apart. What do we do?"
I shook my head watching.
His heart rate was now four times the maximum, he was shaking violently his muscles expanding one last time before he went still.
There was one more beat of his heart and then the constant beep happened, there was no more pulse.
"Samantha get in there! Get the resuss team in there ASAP."
