"Elias, we're here, you have to wake up."
Elias kept his eyes closed, not wanting to give away the fact he was already awake. His body was exhausted, but the entire drive he was unable to sleep. Anxiety kept him awake, waves and waves of panic pounding at him incessantly. New school, new school, new kid, new school. These words on repeat pounded in his head. It was his first time ever being a new kid anywhere, and it was terrifying.
"Elias, you really have to get up, we're at the school!" His mother yelled.
The school was an hour from their new house, and Elias hadn't slept the night before. So instead of letting him stay home like he had hoped his mom would do, she told him to sleep in the car on the ride there. So here he was, being rushed out the car as it practically drove away with him halfway out the door.
"See ya later... I guess..." Elias muttered as his mother sped away without saying goodbye.
Washaway Academy for Troubled Youth. Probably the worst name for a school. Washaway? So weird.
"Aye, watch where you're going idiot!"
Elias's eyes widened as he realized he had bumped someone in passing. They were tall and rather muscular. Now, let it be said Elias was not weak... At least, by his terms anyway. But he certainly did not want to mess with someone so obviously able to beat him to a pulp. He muttered out a quick apology, and ran off, trying to get lost in the crowd of students. Luckily, he wasn't followed. But... he couldn't get that boy out of his mind. Those sea green eyes, that gorgeous black hair... It felt like Elias had seen him before...
Whatever those strange feelings about that boy were, Elias shook it off and kept on walking. No need to dwell on pretty boys who may try and beat you up. wAIT- DID HE JUST THINK OF THAT BOY AS PRETTY???? Elias stopped in his tracks, eyes growing wide. I MEAN, BOYS CAN BE.... PRETTY.... RIGHT? It didn't mean anything, it wasn't like he was... attracted- Nope, not even thinking about going there. Elias boxed those thoughts up in his head nice and neat, and shoved it as far down as he could manage.
He had things to do, people to see, and a new school to explore. No time for anything else. Elias shivered, but he kept on walking. Glancing down at his schedule he made a note of the classroom number, and tried his best to make his way. It took a while, but he made it eventually... Only to see the same boy sitting next to the only open seat in the classroom. When Elias wandered over the boy turned to face him. He was scarier up close, but what was more off putting than his muscles was his grin. It was cocky and definitely a troublemaker's smile. Elias didn't trust it.
"Hey, it's you. I'm so sorry about earlier, I guess I wasn't in the best mood." Elias blinked, then narrowed his eyes. Surely this boy who changed moods so quickly was attempting to lure him in. Attempting to create a sense of security before he struck him when he least expected. Well Elias wouldn't let him. Elias would be ready to strike first.
