If we were to have realize it sooner?
Would everything be different?
No matter how I see what happened, she's was a friend, should we have doubt her before that incident? but that's not something the Commander would be able to do nor she be able to know, she's not a God, she's a human after all, capable of mistakes and errors.
I've been there, a witnes to all of the failures where she thought she had failed to protect a team member who turns outs to be alive, a failure that made her decison to isolate herself from us, from everything even her family, her brother whom she protected and loved the most, who was killed by someone she also cherished
A betrayal after a betrayal..one after another, up to this point we didn't know who we were up against except the fact that the agency is tying to kill us acting on the orders of governments who wants their dirty laundry to be buried
It was a definite plan exposing them one by one... but the Vera choose to take the long route so we could not spill any more blood and be hiding, so we couldn't not throw our lives up to the point that it's redeemable.
A very ambitious plan isn't it? for a contract killers... an asset... we still have the guts to even asked for it... I don't know if we even deserve it.
The last few years in hiding wasn't peaceful either so I'd say we asked for it cause we were hungry for freedom, life of a fellow assets who's only acting based on orders, you will throw up at first until you're immune then you sought after freedom after the same rounds of routine especially after tasting it.
She's always try avoiding what's worse...

Malik immediately ran towards Vera and hug her from behind to stop her from running towards the fire

"I... w-as reckless Claire... I... s-hould.." hinila ko siya payakap at tinakpan ang tenga para hindi marining ang iyak ni Vera na kumakawala pa rin sa yakap ni Malik

Hinayaan kong kunin ni Sphere si Sera na mas lalong umiiyak sa oras na yinakap siya ng kambal. Nagkatitigan kami ni Sphere na kagaya ko ay pinipigilan ang sariling sumabay sa agos ng emosyong sa aming paligid
"I already called the authorities" he said while gripping Sera tightly
"Good" I said almost in a whisper. I looked at the mansion again when another bomb go off consecutively dahilan kaya napatakip kami ng mata.
Napalingon kami sa posisyon ni Vera ng kumawala ito sa hawak ni Malik mabilis akong tumakbo at hinarangan siya
"C-laire... I-ts h-urts so... m-uch"
Napapikit ako ng mata sa sinabi niya. Nakita ko sa gilid ng aking mga mata si Sphere na sumunod pala.
