Tony's POV
"T-Tony, is that you?" The words slip past his lips, shock and wonderment dancing in his eyes.
Kaylah rolls her eyes, taking the pack of cookies away from him discreetly, something she would do when she wanted something, but someone older than her would want it to. A trait coming from her father, Mike.
"I do believe so." I smirk, Kaylah grabbing another pack of cookies, placing them into the cart.
"It's so nice to see you again." A smile forms on his face. "And who's child is that because, she's so rude. Is that your cousin or something?" He points at Kaylah, Kaylah glaring at him deadly, a trait from me, to be exact.
"Shut up." Kaylah frowns, grabbing a box of fruit snacks, probably fed up with Mike, but not paying us any mind after that.
"Oh, you know. Our daughter Kaylah." He then stops pointing his finger at Kaylah, looking between her and I, his eyes stopping on to me after a moment or so. "Remember when I told you that I had something special to tell you; I bet you wished you would've listened."
Mike's POV
My heart clenches at the feeling of not knowing something, for years. There's no way in hell, that could be Tony and I's child. We're both guys, so it's not like one of us could get pregnant, right? But the girl does show facial features of mine.
"Baby, apologize to this man, first off. Second of all, keep looking for stuff on the list, okay?" Tony explains to the girl, me already forgetting the girl's name. "And if you can't find it, or something bad happens, what do you do?"
"Come back to you and ask for help. But if something bad happens, scream for help and fight as hard as I can." The little girl says confidently, a sly smirk falling on to her face, Tony shaking his head at her, a smile on his face though.
"That's my girl." Tony kisses the top of her head, giving a her little shove to their cart. "What do you want?" His attention goes back to me, his rude demeanor coming out.
"I want to know how that girl is our child, even though neither one of us can get pregnant." I spat, anger gliding its way into my tone of my voice, sadness tagging along.
"Actually, that's not true. I can get pregnant." Tony replies, picking up a box of scrabble cheez-it's. "Hint the reason why, Kaylah is here."
"But I used a condom." I whine out of frustration, finding a pack of Chips Ahoy cookies, placing them in my cart.
"Yeah, but not every condom works." Tony says nonchalantly, walking further down the aisle, me following.
"Wait, is that why you moved out of California?" I question, remembering when I broke up with him he said I'd never see him again.
"Uh, yeah." Tony looks at me like that was the most dumbest question, that could ever be said aloud. "Then, when the pregnancy was over, and Kaylah was born, I waited a few years to come back."
"But why didn't you tell me before you left?" Confusion was the only thing on my mind.
"I tried to, when I went to your house, but you decided to be a little bitch, instead of manning up, and had your brother answer the door, and answer my texts, my calls, even my damn e-mails, to your pathetic ass." Tony spits, venom hanging off of his tongue.
"Tony, I am-" I'm cut off to the sound of a perky voice.
"Mike, I got the meat." Alysha places the chicken and burger meat into the cart, looking at Tony and I. "What were you guys talking about?"
"Nothing much, I just bumped into an old friend of mine from high school." I explain, Tony giving me a death glare.
"Hi, I'm Tony." Tony's whole expression changes from anger and frustration, to happiness and excitement, when he greets Alysha. "And you must be the wonderful girlfriend, Mike was just telling me about."
"Oh really?" Alysha blushes, her eyes still on Tony. "What did he say?"
"He said, you're funny, adorable, the sunshine of his life." Everything that Tony just said, was what I said about him, when we were together. "He loves your smile, your blush, just everything about you, really."
That's when the guilt settles in. I had told that to Tony every single day of our relationship, to let him know that I loved him, and would never let go of such a piece of perfection. I told him I could never move on from him, and I could never leave him because, we're meant to be together. But once we hit a bump in the road, I just ditched him.
"Aw, thank you Mike." Alysha wraps her arms around my neck, kissing my cheek.
I wrap my arms around her waist, watching as Tony glares at me from behind Alysha.
"I'll be on my way now." Tony smiles at the both of us, once Alysha turns around.
"Wait, I never got your number, so we could catch up more." I say, pulling my phone out for him to further explain Kaylah's appearance on the phone.
"Okay." Tony replies, typing his number into my contacts. "It was a pleasure to see you again, Mike. And a pleasure to meet you as well... I'm sorry, I forgot your name. Alysha, right?" He is so making lying his bitch, right now, he's never been that way. He couldn't tell a lie if it could save his damn life, in high school.
"Yeah, that's it." Alysha smiles, Tony walking away afterwards. "He seems really nice."
"Yeah." I mumble, pushing the cart to the cash register, tired and ready to go home already.
