It was another lovely day in The Boiling Isles, at least to Luz it was. What a normal human would consider a fight for survival, Luz just considered another day in the place that was her second home. The place that helped her become who she wanted to be.
Plus, studying in Wild Magic University had its perks.
"Heya, dude!" Luz cried to one of the janitors whilst shooting some finger guns at him. "Keep up the great work!"
The janitor only smiled in response, a massive maw full of sharp teeth showing up.
As Luz made her way to her class, which happened to be Wild Witch History, she kept doing the same thing to professors or workers passing by, and her fellow classmates, who she had quickly grown familiar with due to being the only human.
It was tough to use magic like how she used to when she was younger, since King was still practicing his new Gylph Magic...thankfully, Stringbean came in handy.
"Let's speed this up, huh?" Luz asked as she took out her Palisman and then sped across the hall in a purple blur. She then stopped in her tracks right at the door and grinned as she walked in, with Stringbean wrapping around her neck like a neck pillow.
"Heya, Professor Horus!" Luz said, being just a bit too loud for any normal classroom environment.
Professor Horus was a simple demon. A humanoid spider with arachnoid legs and mandibles. He looked at Luz, seeming amused and annoyed by Luz's volume all at the same time. "Classroom volume, Ms. Noceda."
"Right, right! Sorry!" Luz said, quickly quieting down as she took a seat. "So, what's for today?"
"You'll have to wait until we begin, Luz." Professor Horus said simply, standing from his desk shortly as the bell rang...or rather, screamed.
Don't worry, that part's normal.
Luz gave a reaffirming nod as she took a seat and then took out an Azura-themed pen and her notebook, which she liked to doodle in. Everyone grew quiet and Professor Horus began his lesson. This one was a particularly interesting section.
It brought up a few bad memories, but it also reminded Luz of how much she had grown.
What was the section about? The supposed Savage Ages AKA the years of Caleb and Philip Wittebane. The first humans to wander into The Demon Realm...one of which happened to be an evil psychopath, but still.

Meanwhile, Amity Blight was hard at work at Blight Industries. Despite wanting to spend as much time with her girlfriend in Wild Magic University, Amity thought it'd be a better idea for her to help her father rebuild Blight Industries.
It was their family's main source of income...and Abomination Tech would come in pretty handy if another Belos were to show up.
Although, the only downside (in Amity's eyes anyway) was that she got to miss out on what university was like and with Luz of all people. Her father said she didn't need university with how brilliant she already was, but sometimes doubt came into play.
"Alright, everyone!" Amity cried, clapping her gloved hands together for the announcement as hundreds of workers looked up at her. "We have a lot of work to do, so let's get started! No wasting the day away!"
The moment Amity stopped talking, the factory roared to life. Machines began activating and workers began using their magic or overall knowhow to start assembling all kinds of Abomination related weaponry or machinery. Even new Abomatons were being produced.
Amity grinned as she looked over all she had managed to make alongside her father. She didn't expect to want to run her family's company, even if she wasn't the true owner, but here she was. She wanted to make it better. Give families plenty of opportunities to have jobs or protection rather than selling deadly weapons to the highest bidder like Odalia used to do.
Amity then made her way back to her office, which she was surprised she now had at her age, and took a seat. She then took out some blueprints and grabbed a pencil. Her latest design was an Abomination Armor, giving a person the strength and power of a typical Abomaton soldier. However, there was some slight risk if someone evil or morally gray were to get their hands on such power. However, with her whole company, there was always going to be a risk.
That just gave her all the more reason to prepare for them.
Then, there was a knock on the door shortly before it opened. It was her father, Alador Blight. "Hard at work, Mittens?"
"As usual." Amity chuckled. "How'd it go at the Healing Center?"
Alador hummed as he pulled up a chair and sat down. "It's going well. With healing magic and our technology, sigils are being removed one by one. How are things here- Wait, what is that you're designing?"
"Oh, this?" Amity asked, looking down at her current work and then smiling sheepishly. "It's just some some armor I'm trying to design. I'm nowhere near on your level with this kind of thing, but I figured it could give someone the strength and power of an Abomaton soldier. It could be used for authorities or even to help keep construction workers safe! There's a lot of uses...hopefully not evil ones though...i-it's a little embarrassing now that I-"
Alador then took the blueprint and looked it over. "Hmmm...there are a few flaws, but if this is your first ever design? It's astounding! I told you that your brain is beyond a need for university. Here, I'll help you with the rest."
Amity smiled. "Alright, Dad. Let's get to work then."

Many hours passed until the day had turned into dusk. Workers headed home to their families or just to their houses. Students either went home from school or into their dorm rooms in university...however, two people had other plans.
Luz approached the town square and then spotted her girlfriend, who was petting Ghost's head with a soft smile. Luz took a moment to appreciate her girlfriend's overall appearance and beauty, which she found herself hardly ever getting sick of. How was someone like Amity only becoming more mesmerizing?
Perhaps, it would be a mystery for the end of time...but, only to Luz. The answer was that Luz just loved her other half.
And being the apprentice of The Owl Lady, a former harbinger of chaos, Luz decided to be a little playful with her beloved. She began to sneak through the crowd until she was right behind the bench Amity was sitting on. She grinned and then raised her hands above her head before Amity turned around with a gentle smile, not seeming surprised in the least.
"Hola, batata."
Luz blinked before pouting as she hopped over the bench and sat right next to Amity, letting Stringbean slither down her arm towards Ghost. "I was hoping to surprise you!"
Amity grinned and scooted a little closer. "I know you, Luz. Always expect the unexpected...plus, I could hear your adorable evil laugh from a mile away."
Luz's cheeks flushed red as Amity pecked her cheek. "Amityyyy!"
Amity giggled and nuzzled her before grabbing Ghost. "So, are you ready? I've had a long day and I'm ready to relax with you."
Luz smiled and took Stringbean, cracking her neck. "I've been waiting for this all day, sweet potato!"
Amity then walked over and held Luz's hand, twirling her around and then dipping her. Luz giggled as they gave each other one last kiss before hopping on their staffs and soaring into the air.
