of course, lydia knew the never trust the love interest thing was real. i mean.. just think about it, billy and sidney, stu and tatum i guess.. hallie and mickey, sam and richie, a lot of the times it was the love interest. but lydia couldn't just not trust ethan, and she knew he would never do something like this so she didn't think it was a problem.sam inhaled. "okay! so.. we have our rules, and we have our suspects." she looked at everyone. "wait, what about you guys?" ethan said. lydia tilted her head in confusion. "uh, i think it's pretty safe to rule out the 5 of us that went through this last year." mindy crossed her arms. "i agree." lydia nodded. chad popped his hand up. "yeah, me too." he said. "um, no.. not agreed, what if the trauma you went through caused one or.. or more.. of you to snap?" quinn suggested, looking at lydia. "yeah, or.. the fame you got from the killings made you thirsty for more." lydia looked at ethan. "i mean.. to be honest here, some of the theories online about sam are.." everyone was looking at him now, lydia took ethans hand off of her waist. "don't you fucking dare." tara said. ethan went silent and he scratched the back of his neck. "okay, she's right though. i mean, if we're all suspects.." anika pointed at mindy's suspects. "you're all suspects." she said. mindy hummed, thinking about her girlfriends comment.
"alright, i'm gonna go." lydia got up and started walking away, tara waved. ethan got up to follow after lydia. lydia scoffed and stopped. "not with you." she said. "what, why?" she laughed and rolled her eyes. "don't you think i'm one of the killers?" ethan looked around. "i don't think that.. what?" ethan realized what she was talking about. "dia, i wasn't talking about you.." ethan looked really sad, as it was their first argument. "still! you can't just accuse my friends of being killers either, it doesn't make it better ethan." lydia started walking again. "lydia!" he caught up with her. "i'm sorry, okay? but your friend accused me too." lydia sighed. "i know, ethan. and i'll talk to her about that." lydia said, opening the door. "are you still mad at me?" lydia rolled her eyes. "yes, god!" she walked faster. "lydia.." his voice was shaky. "don't do this to me, ethan." she looked at him, his eyes were watering. she brought him upstairs to her room so nobody could hear them. "what is your problem? it's just an argument there's no need to cry over it." she shrugged, opening her door. "i love you so much, i can't lose you." lydia looked everywhere but at ethan. "you won't lose me, ever." she smiled and nodded, she almost started to cry. "great, now i'm crying." he hugged her. "i'm sorry." ethan led her to her room.
ethan's heart was racing. "lydia.." she listened. "yeah?" she asked. he sighed. "what's up, ethan?" he hesitated, his sister would kill him if he told her everything and it didn't go right, and he wouldn't be able to kill her. "i-" he grabbed his bag and sighed. "i don't know.." he sat down on her bed. "i can trust you.. you won't tell anyone, right?" he looked up at her. "i-i don't think i will.." she stared at him. "why? what is it?" ethan fidgeted with his fingers. "lydia, i really love you." he almost started to cry again. "dude," she smiled. "i love you too, but was that it?" he shook his head. "okay, tell me you're scaring me." she sat down with him. he took a deep breath. "once i tell you, you might be even more scared." lydia gulped. "ethan. say it." he looked at her, giving her maybe the last kiss he might ever get to give her. he opened his bag, taking out a white mask. she laughed a little. "funny joke!" she pat his back. he stared at her, tears forming in his eyes. lydia got up, backing away from him. "it is a joke right?" she bit her lip, not knowing what to do. ethan got up and blocked the door so she wouldn't leave. she looked at him, she was so frightened. "you're fucking sick!" she cried. "no, no.. lydia listen to me." he walked up to her, she wouldn't let him get close. "why?" she shook her head. "sam, she.. she killed my brother." lydia looked at the boy in front of her, who she thought she knew everything about but in reality she barely knew anything.
"your brother died in a car accident." lydia mumbled. "no, he died in woodsboro." lydia tried to hold back her tears. "richie." she shook her head in disbelief. "no.. no." she hoped it was all a bad dream. "and lydia, whether you realize or not.. they got your dad killed." lydia stared blankly. she never thought about it that way. "yeah.. think about it lyd." he whispered. "you could get revenge with me. you loved dewey more than anything, and i loved my brother." he persuaded. "who else?" she asked him, trying to sound calm. "quinn, detective bailey." she could throw up. "why them?" she said quietly. "they're my family, dia." he ran his hands through her hair. "ethan, i don't know what you expected out of this, but i'm telling the others." she started to walk to the door and he grabbed her hand. "that bitch sam got your father killed lydia. the only person you had growing up. and i know how that feels." she turned to him. she thought about it for a second. "what do you want, ethan?" she asked. "all i want, lydia.." he sighed. "is you." he whispered. "and you love me, right?" she nodded, lydia wasn't scared anymore, she was just enraged. it was sam's fault for her fathers death. she would do anything to avenge him. she didn't give a shit about richie, he was just another pathetic horror geek. but she wanted to help her boyfriend and her dad.
"lydia?" he tried to get her attention.
"i'm in."
