Her whole morning was filled. First by Defence against the dark arts and then with ancient runes. This also meant that she spent the entire morning avoiding Draco Malfoy. She had begun to suspect something was off with him. He would disappear alone between classes often arriving at the very last minute.
After lunch she trudged towards the Astronomy tower where she would have back-to-back intro to Astronomy and Divination. Her schedule was almost as packed as Hermione's, and it would appear Draco's too. Which was ironic considering it sounded as if he loathed Hogwarts. Much to Yn's distain the number of students taking divination was rather minimal and Professor Trelawney thought it best to pair those in common houses. Unfortunately, there were only two Slytherins in that class. No one needed to guess on who those two were.
Professor Trelawney, herded Draco and Yn to the same table. As they sat Yn's knee touched Draco's leg. Or the other way around. It really didn't matter. The knee jerk reaction from Yn was the same.
Since it was the first lesson, Professor Trelawny spent most of the time covering everything that they should have been taught up until that point, whilst pouring them all tea.
"Drink, drink," she waved her arms around. "Let's see... Mr Malfoy what do the tea leaves say about Miss Avery."
Draco looked to Yn's teacup.
"May I," he gestured to her cup.
Yn lifted her shoulder nonchalantly. She leaned forward to push her teacup towards him. At the same time Draco reach forward and his fingertips grazing hers. Yn pulled back and leaned back in her seat arms folded, waiting for Draco attempt at reading her tea leaves.
Draco peered down at the cup, but rather than inspecting the green sludge at swirling the fine china, instead saw the faint pinkish mark from yn's lip gloss. His eyes flickered up to the source of the stain. He couldn't help but notice the plumpness of Yn's lips, the curvature over cupid's bow and the way they parted. He felt stupid. He knew that he was wasting his time and his distraction would cost him in more way than one, but it was the first time he was feeing these sensations, He had never noticed things about a girl the way he was now.
"Draco?" Professor Trelawney coaxed Draco out of his spiral.
Draco cleared his throat and sat taller in his seat, balancing his elbows on the table and peering directly into the cup. Draco did not really buy into the art of divination, but he was signed up for almost every class that a student could possibly take on the curriculum courtesy of his father and he knew it would prove quite disruptive with the task that he had to complete by the end of the school year. "I see... wavy lines or maybe it's a snake"
Professor Trelawney sucked in a deep breath, looking over sympathetically at Yn. "Do you know what the means dear."
Yn's eyes slid back to Draco.
"Imminent danger, a difficult journey or a bad omen."
Yn gulped as she registered Draco's words. "What else," she said.
Draco's lips dried as he interpreted what he saw. "I don't know ... maybe an owl and a knife..."
Yn knew what they meant. She scoffed snatching the cup back to take a looked herself. Sure he was playing with her. But there they were. The owl, representing deceit in love and the knife, disaster met through fighting and hatred. She clenched her teeth, catching the skin of the inside of her mouth sharply. "Whatever," she sighed. When was her journey ever easy she concluded. As for love. She didn't plan on that so that wasn't going to be an issue. She had seen first-hand what love did to her parents. Not just them, but almost every relationship she had ever seen. It appeared to be more hassle than she wanted to handle. Somehow, she knew if she did love, she would be destined to love the wrong person.
