You took out a bat, stealthy approaching. It's ears did not flicker toward you, it's paws did not flee away. Wood collided with the pup. It scrambled away quickly and you gave chase. One running for survival, other for money. Little paws skittered away chased by heavy shoes and ran towards the bright blue caves to hide.
The doors held it back as it sat and waiting for the tiniest opening to slither out onto a crystal. It's paws sat high, contrasting to soft blue with its golden hue.
If you followed, you'd fail.
A single brick would it all it would take, but you didn't bring any, such a mistake.
All that could be thrown was a single rock, strange and smooth.
It flew with forward with grace, and began closing space.
It pecked the dog on its nose and landed by its toes.
The job was not done, the dog still stood, gleaming.
The colour of the sun.
This rigged battle was indeed, not won.The pup sniffed the strange crystal, and ate it.
You watched as it waited."All I have to do is wait for it to slip or sleep."
Thus it watched with fearful eyes.
"It's okay.. I won't hurt you.."
Not believing any of the blatant lies.
Rainbow light.
It gave the pup such a fright.
With a woof and a wobble it shifted its stance, and began to dance!
It glowed like a beacon in the night. Music flowed through the cave
but soon all that was left.
Was a grave.A golden bat lay by the golden tombstone.
A remanent of an unfortunate soul.
An incident that has taken its toll. Nearby a lime hound sat watching as you gave the new bat a pat.
In your hands it lay, brilliantly glowing, your greed has shone, and it was showing.Proceed to the next chapter.
