"Hi babe," she said kissing my cheek, "Guys!" Carl shouted running through the doors, he's always energetic like this for little things he finds fun or cool, like a new comic or a pretty rabbit, "Guys, later tonight let's sneak over the walls i gotta show you something," he whispered, "What do you wanna show us?" Enid asked, "You'll seee" he said with a smug smile as he walked into the kitchen, we both shrugged our shoulders and laughed. When carl came out of the kitchen with a granola bar he sat down, we arranged too meet outside the house at 11pm, and so forth.
~Timeskip~10:55pm~
I was walking down the stairs quietly, id already seen enid leave about 4 minutes ago, I had a bag with some snacks, a flashlight and weapons in it but not much more, I creeped down the stairs slowly, looking back every so often too make sure no-one was watching, I got outside and saw enid and Carl waiting, we silently greeted eachother and almost crawled over to the back of the wall, trying not too alert anyone, we got too the back and left the wall, it was easier too climb here so we did so trying too make as little noise as possible. Carl was the last too get over the fence as he was helping me and enid, when he jumped over enid asked, "Where are we going?" "I found this spot i want to show you guys, we have 8 or so hours until people start too wake up soo we are good on time," he smiled enthusiastically, leading the way with his flashlight. We walked for about 15 minutes, through woodland, finding a small clearing luminated by moonlight, as we got too the spot carl was talking about I was taken aback by the beauty of it, It was a small lake, but not too small, surrounded by trees, and perched near the shore was a small beach house, a cozy small, in decent shape and it looks like carl had already been doing some clearing out of walkers by the clear pile of dead ones perched next too a bush. "Cmon," he ushered excitedly, walking up the stairs too the beach house and unlocking the door, "Found the key under the mat, there was only 2 walkers in here, probably a couple who "opted" out." Carl said, we had gotten used too the idea of suicide in the apocalypse, each of us had probably found atleast a dozen walkers killed by suicide, we weren't numb but we were somewhat unaffected. We walked in, it was nice, clean, it looks like carl had cleaned it and had been hanging out here for a bit, there was comic books on the floor, an empty water bottle and an old DVD player, powered by batteries presumably (act like batteries last forever omg) with some old CD's next to it. "This place is so nice!" Enid squealed sitting down, the walls were covered in things too soundproof the walls so we were ok, I say next too her and smiled at carl, a thankful smile, thankful for showing us this, He put a CD in the music player as it started playing some music, early 2000's or 90's pop probably, he sat down too, kissing enid, he pulled away and put his hand on my cheek smiling, "I love you both, this can be our spot from now on," he smiled, We all agreed and sat in silence listening too music, until I broke the silence, "Hey uh, carl, have you been sleeping here?" I asked laughing, pointing at the large mattress in the corner off the room, with a thick blanket,and pillows sprawled across it, "Oh cmon can you blame me,also look how comfy those sheets are," he said smugly, crossing his arms like he was making a point, which he was those sheets looked heavenly, I got up and slumped down on them, "Goddamn your right, " I said, We all laughed the night away, until it was time too go back too the hilltop, we made our way back and over the fence, before sneaking in through the back door and all of us retreating too our rooms.
