It was well over a while when Sayre starts to get homeschooled by mama while papa is still productive at work unchanged. Mama's clothes lately were more homey, almost as if she was wearing clothes while I was still on her tummy; oversized and comfy, airy clothes.
Sayre will miss seeing mama wearing that iconic apron on top of jean suspenders kind of clothes.
Anyway, here's a brief runthrough of Sayre's life at the moment: I have to wake up early in the morning to serve mama and papa's breakfast, have another three hours of mama getting me into this homeschool setup, make lunch for me and mama, get busy baking at the kitchen for roughly the whole afternoon, mama gets to make dinner for all three of us once papa gets home, and finally it's my do-whatever-you-want evening.
That's a linear routine that Sayre would have to simply follow indefinitely until I get older. It's easy for me to follow, so it's all a big no-no-worries for me. However, that routine doesn't apply on weekends since mama and papa are here anyway.
Speaking of weekends, it is indeed one.
As more the usual, Sayre woke up a little late in the morning and headed immediately downstairs while still wearing a plain white dress that stretches all the way to my knees. To be honest, I'm just lazy taking a bath right after I wake up, so I was curious what it feels like getting in the day without a bath first thing in the morning.
I went my way to the kitchen and sure enough, mama is there in front of the stove cooking us some breakfast.
"Hm? Oh, good morning sweetie!"
"Mama!" I race my way towards her, jump to give her a hug. Mama twirled around as a result which she found herself shocked and surprised. "Goodo morning!"
"Look at you, you energetic little turnip!" Mama pets my head, only to realize that she felt my hair oily and greasy. "Oh, you didn't take a bath after you wake up?"
"It's too tiring! Plus! I wanna see what happens if I spend the morning not taking a bath!"
"My, that's bad bad... But...! I'll give you a pass. Just make sure you'll take a bath right before we eat lunch."
"Aye, aye!" Sayre salutes. "By the way, where is papa? I don't see him in the living room right after I woke up."
"Your papa's in the garage doing something for his work."
"Woah!" Both of my hands were agitated, Sayre's full of enthusiasm. "Can I check up on him? I wanna see papa doing awesome work!"
Mama laughed along at the immense energy Sayre's having for the morning. "Haha, come on sweetie, it's still early. Sure, you can head to your papa if that makes you feel happier.
Sayre saluted. "Okie-dokie!" From the kitchen, I revved my feet as to dash my way out of the kitchen.
"Wait, Sayre, have your breakfast first!" mama calls for me from afar.
"Papa and I can come eat together a little later~" Sayre replies back, from afar.
I continued dashing my way towards the garage then I find papa who's really sweating, sitting on a plastic stool doing something on the table that looks raw and homemade. In front was the entire garage door open where I can feel the radiating morning sunshine heat outside—it was pretty clear for today. Papa seems to be facing to the open air and still is focused on whatever he's doing as he didn't notice my presence from behind.
I walked near him, tapped his shoulders, and asked, "Papa, papa! What are you doing?"
He stopped whatever he's working with that weird gun-like tool that's on his hand, and looked behind then down to me. "Oh, good morning Sayre." he patted my head, but he also reacted like mama earlier and asked, "What, you haven't taken a bath?"
