A Vampire's World

Broken

After I blacked out, I wake up, slowly. I start hearing voices, whispering voices. I strain to listen. I can't catch every word, but I hear some words. I try to open my eyes, but it's like they're heavy and glued together tight.

"Why.. Collapse?" That sounds like Dimi.

"When... You... Through." That voice is Loren.

"Seriously.... Only...." That one is Jake, I would know his voice from a mile away.

My eyes are getting easier to open. They flutter and open wide. only to snap ahut again. My eyes are stinging, because of the harsh light, beaming down on me. I hear a click from the lightswitch and open my eyes again, this time. Them stay open and not hurting. I focus my eyes, getting greeted by three pairs of sapphire orbs.

"What happened?" I ask, no one in particular.

"Your powers came through when you touch your uncle. The pain you felt was everyone of them arriving and strengthening. That won't happen again. ." Loren

All this for a few powers? You have got to be bloody kiddin'. I slowly get up off my bed, struggling a little. Loren hold a hand out to me, I smile and take it. Only, I freeze. My head filling with all his thoughts. When he seen me when I was human, he thought I was a vampire, because I was so beautiful. Then he heard my beating heart. When I said my name, he was so shocked a human had the name Costella.

I yank my hand away and look at him and smiled again. I know what his answer is, for the whole living alongside humans thing is, but I will wait until he tells me.

"We need to talk later okay, Ariella?" I nod, sent him a small smile as he left.

Jake pulls me into a hug, I was completely caught off guard. I have his every thought. Every single one. about me, Ariel, Dimi, everything.

"We need to talk later too, Jake." I whisper.

He nods and leaves, leaving Dimi and I. I look at him and he looka deep in thought, he has the same powers as me except he can see tiny bits of the future. I can tell what powers people have, which is Awesome. Suddenly, he smiles, I raise an eyebrow questioningly.

"I seen Loren's answer." He pauses.

"I did too." I state with a massive smile. He stares at me in shock, then grins.

"Oh, I think your dad forgot to mention one gift to you. I'm not 100% sure though." I wait patiently for him to tell me. "Your a magnet to everyone. You draw people in, to like, love and to admire you."

I look at him like he sprouted another head. How is that possible? People are drawn to me? Awe! I won't have aload of crazy stalkers will I? I'm not that great. I look at him for an explaination. He smiles and sits down on the bed, patting the space next to him.

"How does that work?" I ask, since he doesn't bother to talk

"Well Ari, people who see you will instantly be drawn. Like you are one metal and everyone else, including supernaturals, are all magnets." He explains. Hmm, never thought of it that way.

I nod in understanding, so this is a power. I give Dimi a hug and go to talk to Loren. I walk into his homely office. Loren is sitting on a black swivel chair. His head snaps up to meet mine.

"Ah Ariella, just the person." He smiles. "Now, when you mentioned, living alongside humans peacefully. I didn't think it would be possible." He states, I scoff. "We have completed a trail in one of the smaller towns, obviously we can live alongside. So we are going to start it, all over the country." I grin. "There will be a trial for six weeks, first. If that works out. We will all live peacefully. We will have to do a press conference, you will be there. We will introduce you to the world too." I nod, still grinning.

"Thanks Loren, your the best." I run up to Jake's room.

I hear muffled noises on the otherside of the door. I frown, but slowly open the door. Jake is lying down on his bed, Ariel on top of him naked. Moaning, again. I stare in shock, and I fake cough.

Both there heads whipped around. Ariel had a smug smirk, having got her way with jake again. The jealousy, rolling off her in waves as she looks at me. That gives me some satisfaction. Jake looks shocked, his eyes fill with regret and guilt. That BASTARD! Tears stIng my eyes, a lump forms in my throat, my heart clenches, painfully. I shake myself, ever so slightly. Saving me from making a total twat of myself.

"Well, I see the skank is back. Jesus Jacob," He winces when I called him by his full name. "You think you could find someone, who won't cheat on you, again." I put emphasis on again.

"Who are you calling skank, I will be your worst nightmare bitch." Ariel spits. I cock my head to the side, a sadistic smile on my face.

"You could try, sweetheart. You wouldn't even have time to get off of him, before I got you." I spit with narrowed eyes, she looks taken aback and scared. Dope! "As much as I like seeing you get taken as a idiot, Jacob. I'm outta here."

"Tamara wa-" I cut him off by slamming his door, so hard the lights shake.

I run and run. I stop, right in the middle of the forest, I sit there and cry, silently. My heart shattering even more, Jacob could have fixed me, he could have mended me. Now, he made it ten times worse.

"Well, little vampire girl. Your on the wrong territory, now!"
