Fleetway's Genesis

Y/N woke up after only 2 hours of sleep. He has been too busy mourning the loss of his best friend to focus on his own health. He had been feeling dead inside, and hadn't stopped thinking about what happened. He still blamed the group that had appeared out of nowhere. They were just distracting him. They were the ones to kill Ray.

Y/N was tired. He couldn't think about it any longer. He looked at the time, and noticed he had to go to work in 5 minutes. He couldn't just stop, he needed the money for rent. Suddenly, a lot of things in life, especially his job, didn't seem so appealing. He put on his shoes, and his shirt, and head out, with tear marks still being visible. 

Once he arrived there, he started working as he always did. The people were so indifferent. He wished he had somebody to check up on him, but that wasn't the case. He began to resent the people he was serving, jealous of how happy they were. The hours went by, but much slower than yesterday. Almost as if time itself was laughing at his despair. Y/N was angry, but tried his best to not show it. But then, he heard them.

???: Come on, Knuckles! It'll cheer you up, trust me!

???: Yeah, you've been horrible since your last mission. This is the best chili dog place in town, you'll love it!

Y/N began to think to himself. Knuckles? That's what they called the echidna yesterday. 

Y/N, to himself: They couldn't be here. There's no way.

But, much to his dismay, he saw them. It was a different group than yesterday. There was the fox, who seemed to stay silent the entire time, and the echidna was upset and lashing out. There was the pink hedgehog, who seemed cheerful, and a weird cat-looking woman. The edgy hedgehog and the bat were nowhere in sight.

Knuckles: Can you stop?! I don't want to talk about it!

???: Please, don't be upset. There was nothing we could do.

Knuckles: Amy, it was my fault! I could have saved him!

Y/N's blood started to boil as the group walked into the building. He noticed Knuckles carrying a bag. But, it seemed the group was too busy talking amongst one another to not notice him there. 

Amy: I still don't understand why you brought the chaos emeralds. They're only for emergencies.

Knuckles: I can't let anything like it happen again. I'll resort to using the emeralds if I have to.

They took a seat at a nearby table.

Y/N, to himself: The hell are they doing here? Do they not care?

The line of customers seemed to stop. It was convenient for Y/N, as he was stuck in place, boiling with anger.

But suddenly, somebody new walked in. Or flied in, anyways.

???: Hey guys. What's new?

Amy: Knuckles is having a hard time processing yesterday. Tails is refusing to speak as well.

???: Hm. That's weird. What happened?

Knuckles: I don't want to talk about it.

Knuckles said this with her head buried onto the table.

Amy: Someone... died. We couldn't save them, Silver.

Y/N took a second to look at Silver. He noticed first that it was, like all the other members of the group, a female. She was a hedgehog, with white fur and a techno look. The weirdest part was that she was familiar to Y/N.

Y/N: Wait.. is she..?

Silver was the girl in the dream. The one chasing Y/N on the subway.

Silver: I think I already knew. Which reminds me, I need to warn you all about something.

Amy: Hm?

Silver: It appeared to me in a dream. This one hedgehog with (F/C) fur. I was chasing it down a subway. It was a threat.

Knuckles bolted up.

Knuckles: (F/C) fur?! Tails, You don't think it's..

Tails,  the first time in the conversation, spoke. Her voice had a raspy tone, as if she'd been crying as well.

Tails: The boy in the alley. 

Silver: He's probably vengeful. Please, be careful. Protect the chaos emeralds at all costs.

Knuckles: The... emeralds?

Y/N overheard everything, and was scared. He started backing out of the cashier counter. There was a back exit, he could go through there if he was just silen-

CLANG!

Y/N bumped into a pan, and it made a gigantic noise. Not only did all of the customers look, so did the group. 

Amy: !?

Knuckles: Oop!

Silver: It's him!

Y/N stood still, not scared anymore.

Y/N: You all killed my best friend. You're the threat here.

Silver: Blaze, help me corner him.

Blaze: Silver, I don't think that's a good idea.

Knuckles leaped forward to Y/N, grabbing him by the throat. 

Tails: Knuckles, STOP!

Amy: TAILS, HELP ME GET HIM OFF!

The voices started up again in Y/N's head, worsening the situation. Except they weren't about him anymore.

"It was those girls that did it."

"Avenge Ray."

Y/N was in his own personal hell, but he heard one voice that seemed like it had a great idea.

"Why don't you let me come out for a bit?

And then it went black for Y/N.

Knuckles held on, not dealing any blows but still squeezing Y/N, damaging him. Tails and Amy managed to get her off Y/N, but Knuckles dropped something.

Blaze: KNUCKLES! YOU DROPPED THE CHAOS EMERALDS!

Silver: WHY DO YOU HAVE THEM?

The girls started arguing, but one of the emeralds dropped from the bag and made contact with Y/N. While he was formally on the floor, he suddenly felt the strength to stand up. The emeralds started pouring out of the bag, circling Y/N. 

Knuckles: ...Shit.

Amy: Knuckles! Why would you ATTACK?

Tails and Blaze stood in shock, as Y/N started floating. Y/N's fur changed from its usual colour to a golden hue. 

Y/N?: Hehehehe..

Silver: Listen to me, stay calm, alright?

The emeralds started circling Y/N faster and faster, until they suddenly vanished. Left in its place, was a golden Y/N, with red rings in his eyes.

Fleetway: RAAAA! HAHAHA!

Tails: Who are you..?

Fleetway: Wouldn't you like to know?

Silver: We understand you're upset, but we'll take you down if you don't come with us peacefully.

Fleetway: That's how you wanna play things?

Amy brandishes her hammer, as Tails merely looks in horror. Silver just assumes a defensive position whilst flying, and Knuckles readies her fists.

Fleetway: Heh. It's on.

Andddddddd cut! Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter! I'm going to go back and fix some things, and polish other things. Don't worry, the romance and harem stuff will happen later. I just want to go in depth on the characters and give them motives and actual development, as I see it's lacked in most stories like this. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and have a supersonic time.
