The both of them separated from each other in the blink of an eye, standing at least a meter away. Selaena directed her gaze to Ayanami's documents, pretending to be interested in them while Ayanami swept the dust off one of the bookshelves that was near him.
"Aya-tan!! Good morning!!" this black-haired man with equally black rectangular spectacles yelled, seemingly oblivious.
"You didn't knock, Hyuuga," Ayanami cleared his throat and glared at him.
Selaena assumed Hyuuga was blind. His spectacles suggested so. And was he gay? He seemed to have a thing for Ayanami.
Then came more knocks on the door and Ayanami allowed them in. 4 more strolled through the huge wooden doors, and all paused halfway to gaze at the mysterious girl with the turquoise hair.
"Who is this lovely lady?"
"She's tall."
"Is she good with paperwork? I need someone to help me."
"Does she like sweet things?"
Ayanami cleared his throat again before leading everyone to an adjacent conference room. Everyone took their seats with Ayanami at the centre and Selaena on his right. Hyuuga was smiling so much at Selaena that she felt slightly awkward and Ayanami had to shoot him a warning glare.
"Let's settle this first. Unfortunately, for some of you, she's not a secretary here. She's my girl-"
"Ah yes Aya-tan, we heard already~" Hyuuga lowered his head to show his eyes and wink at Selaena. He definitely wasn't blind.
"Oh! I had no clue. She's beautiful."
"I'm jealous, the last time I had a girlfriend was years ago."
"Does she like sweet things?"
"Can she still help me with paperwork?"
Ayanami sighed while Selaena laughed, amused by the reactions of the men.
"Told you, you have no idea how beautiful you are. Everyone's chasing after you," Ayanami whispered to Selaena.
Ayanami slowly introduced me to everyone.
First was Hyuuga of course. He wasn't blind, but Ayanami didn't mention anything about him being gay. He was Ayanami's most loyal follower.
Next was Konatsu, Hyuuga's best friend. Sort of. He had blonde hair and orange eyes, and looked pretty cute. He was the one asking about the paperwork. Apparantly, Hyuuga throws it all to him.
Haruse had dark blue hair and was extremely tall. He was always carrying Kuroyori around, who had pink braided hair. Selaena didn't ask if Kuroyori was a female or male.
Katsuragi seemed to be the oldest judging on looks. His hair looked black but could be brown. Selaena thought he looked pretty fishy, and his name reminded him of karaage chicken.
The whole lot of them, were given the name Black Hawks. Not too sure why. It would take some time for Selaena to remember all their names though.
Ayanami was sorting out his documents while the rest were playing around. Konatsu was trying desperately to ask Hyuuga about some documents but Hyuuga didn't even reply, too busy munching his lollipop. Kuroyori was sitting on the table staring at a clear blue container filled with some liquid. What was that?
It was nearing half-past nine in the morning when Selaena's stomach growled. She remembered she didn't get breakfast yet.
"Hey, what time do you guys get breakfast?" she asked curiously.
Everyone turned to stare at her.
"Breakfast?" Hyuuga gaped at her.
"What's that?" Haruse asked innocently.
Selaena now gawked at the whole lot of them. Even Ayanami looked slightly confused.
"Breakfast? Hello? First meal of the day?"
"Oh that?" Hyuuga scoffed, "we don't need that."
"Nah, we're good," said the rest.
"Unbelievable! Well, today will be the day you start then. Let's go!" Selaena pulled everyone up from their seats and pushed them towards the door.
"Ayanami, you will lead us to the canteen," Selaena ordered.
"Excuse me? I'm the Chief of Staff."
"And I'm your girlfriend. Now go," Selaena grinned.
Thus, the Black Hawks will have breakfast for the first time since they joined the military.
