Chapter 19

Selaena stared at her body. It looked exactly like her!

Something must have happened at the lab the last time Selaena reckoned. But Ayanami didn't tell her anything! Selaena touched the glass tube. The body in the glass tube was dressed in a simple white dress. Her green turquoise hair flowing about her and her eyelids were closed.

'She looks peaceful... I look peaceful...' Selaena thought.

"Selaena?"

She spun around to see Ayanami with a few researchers and scientists. They look shocked.

Ayanami ran towards Selaena and grabbed her by the arm and pulled her away.

"What are you doing here?"

"Why is my body in the glass tube?"

"Answer my question-"

"No you answer first. Why am I there?" Selaena pointed to the body.

Ayanami sighed and signalled the researchers and scientists to leave the room.

"We took out the Eyes from your body. But that was not the only thing we took out."

"What else then..."

"We found out that you possessed the Pandora's Box."

Selaena's eyes went wide with shock. Pandora's Box?

"I...I hold Veloren's body?"

"Yea... I figured you probably didn't want to carry the burden so I had the scientists make another body and placed the Eyes and Pandora's Box inside."

Selaena took a step back. Her knees were shaking. No one told her anything...

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I...I didn't know how to break it to you. I never thought that you would find your way here."

"I don't know what to say..."

Ayanami embraced her and placed his head on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you. Forgive me?" he asked softly.

Selaena smiled and nodded. She hugged him back lovingly.

"Then what are you going to do with Pandora's Box?"

"I don't know. We currently researching on it."

"Are you going to unseal it?"

Ayanami looked down at her. How was he going to answer that?

"I...er...I don't know."

"You can if you want to. But don't use the power for evil stuff."

Ayanami smiled.

"Such a sensible girl I have. I'm so lucky," Ayanami said and ruffled Selaena's hair.

"You're messing up my hair!"

"Ahem Ayanami-sama..."

Ayanami turned around at the sound of his name. The researchers were standing there awkwardly.

"Sorry to interupt but we need to continue."

"I will be right there," Ayanami switched to his serious tone.

"I'll be fine. Go," Selaena said and pulled away from the Chief of Staff.

He nodded and strode away.
