Selaena's favourite pastime was now exploring the Barsburg Military Headquarters. The area was gigantic and she made a mental note to get a map from Ayanami, or even get a tour from him or Michael. She passed by Reiss a couple of times, when he was on his way to his next lecture or combat lesson. They exchanged greetings and had small chitchat before he ran off to his next session with his friends.
Other than that, she hadn't really gotten to know anyone else. The other men in the headquarters seemed a little fishy.
She spent about half an hour walking round in circles, finding herself back in that courtyard she saw when she first stepped out of her apartment. She loved the area, it was private, quiet and peaceful, not to mention beautifully decorated with flowers as well.
She caught sight of a few flower bushes near her and a strange thought came to her mind. Were they edible?
She laughed at herself but paused, familiarity settling in. Someone had told her that flowers were edible... She made her way over to them, bending down to pluck a red one. She held it in between her fingers and stared at it, hesitating. Then she popped it in her mouth in one quick motion.
Sweet and juicy. It tasted like a cherry. Delicious. Selaena grinned and begin to pluck more off to eat, she made a mental note to control herself. They were addictive.
"Addictive, aren't they?"
Selaena stiffened at the familiar voice, turning around to glare at the intruder, "you're not supposed to be here."
There was a pause and then, "neither are you."
"I'm no longer that girlfriend of yours."
"I know. So I'm here to bring her back," Frau growled and took a step towards her. Selaena jumped to her feet and took on a fighting stance, about to summon her own weapon.
A sword appeared and it rested under Frau's chin. Selaena sighed in relief when she saw Ayanami step out from the shadows. His eyes darkened as he approached, and his grip on his sword tightened. He raised his arm to shield Selaena.
"You're not taking her anywhere," Ayanami warned, his voice harsh.
"You don't tell me what to do, you murderer," Frau laughed.
Murderer? Selaena shot Ayanami a questioning look which he ignored.
"And you didn't tell her," Frau smirked.
"Well the point is, you're not going to bring her anywhere."
"Oh yea?" Frau challenged, disappearing to only appear behind Selaena, grabbing her arm.
She yelped and was swung away from Ayanami who tried to catch her but his hands only grabbed the air. He cursed under his breath before darting to the side to attempt an attack on Frau.
Frau jumped back, taking Selaena along with him. He took something out from his pockets, and rapidly whispered some words into his palm before throwing whatever he was holding onto the ground. Selaena glanced at them. Seeds?
Suddenly, shoots burst from the seeds and started to take root in the concrete ground. They grew rapidly into vines which snaked around Selaena's arms and legs, lifting her into the air. Frau had already let her go by that time.
Ayanami caught sight of the vines and glared at Frau. "Labrador," he hissed.
"Labrador," Frau answered, before whipping out his own scythe to meet Ayanami's attack. Sparks flew. Ayanami swung his sword viciously at Frau who got a small cut on his cheek. Frau jumped back and bent down to slash Ayanami at the legs, but failed.
While the men were fighting, Selaena was struggling against the plants which seem to coil tighter around her every time she moved. She cursed as her hair got tangled up as well, her roots hurting. "Got to cut my damn hair later on," she mumbled.
One of the vines started to snake up her thigh and she instantly stilled, not wanting it to go any further. She made a mental note to kill Frau later on for these stupid vines.
"Ah, the seeds worked."
Selaena turned her head to see a man with purple hair dressed in black clothing.
"These are your seeds?" she hissed. When he nodded, Selaena made a mental note to kill him for the vines instead of Frau. Heck, maybe she'll just kill them all.
"Will you get them off please?" she asked sweetly, trying the nice approach.
He shook his head.
"Get them off me or I will kill you."
"Victoria didn't have such a violent personality," he mumbled to himself.
"Well I'm not your damn Victoria. My name is Selaena!" she yelled exasperatedly.
Both of them heard a loud crack and turned towards the source of the noise. Selaena gaped as she spotted the fountain split in half, water pouring onto the ground. Frau seemed to be the cause, for he mouthed 'woops' as he dashed away from Ayanami who chased him like a mad bull, oblivious of the new intruder.
"What the hell? That scythe of his is ridiculous!" Selaena muttered.
"Mine can do that too!" the purple-haired guy grinned innocently at her, showing her his own.
"Labrador! Do it!" Frau yelled from a distance. Ayanami turned his gaze towards the new intruder and his eyes went wide.
Labrador seemed to collect himself and he immediately stabbed Selaena in the neck with a syringe. She gasped in surprise before her head started to get a little fuzzy.
Ayanami went livid, where the hell are his begleitors when he needed them? He summoned them mentally. Frau managed to kick him hard, and he crashed into a wall.
Selaena had no control over her limbs, she guessed that she had been drugged by the dude who had just stabbed her in the neck with a syringe. The vines loosened its hold on her and Labrador caught her in his arms before she fell to the floor. Frau joined him by the side, urging him to hurry off.
5 figures suddenly appeared in front of them and they halted. The rest of the Black Hawks.
"Where do you think you're going?" Hyuuga grinned, his hand resting on his sword.
"Home," Frau hissed menacingly.
"Not today," Katsuragi replied curtly.
Everyone was tense and staring down at each other.
"Don't let them leave," Ayanami ordered, his tone cold and sharp.
"Of course," Hyuuga snickered before advancing towards Labrador who was cradling Selaena in his arms.
Ayanami very much wanted to rip those arms off.
