Chapter 4

"We're near the safe house. We'll be safe there. The safe house will provide us some comfort after all the tension and fear we've been through. It's also filled with supplies and some few necessities that can last for at least a few weeks" Jeongyeon assured us, her phone on her hand, looking for any updates.

It's been a few hours since they left the gas station. They chat a bit about their plans for when they get to the safe house, and they talked about how it will be nice to finally get some rest after such a long fight.

It's almost night time, all of them are now getting nearer to the safe house. Their view getting darker as the time goes by. Once it was already evening, Y/n struggled to open the headlights, as though it was broken.

"Aish, why won't you open" Just as Y/n was about to succesfully open it, they suddenly bumped into something, immediately stopping the car as Jeongyeon suddenly jumped from shocked, while the two from the back woke up from their deep slumber.

"Yah, what was that?" Seulgi whined, complaining from how she suddenly woke up from her sleep.

"I don't know, I'll try to turn on the headlights since I don't want to risk myself getting eaten by zombies if I go out" Y/n kept on trying to turn on the headlights, but it wasn't working.

"This headlights are getting annoying" Y/n groaned as she struggled to turn it on.

After a few tries, Y/n now successfully got the headlights working, but when she saw what was the cause of the sudden bump outside, they gasped out of horror.

"What... the fuck happened here?" Just in front of their car was a lot of dead packs of zombies, already killed one by one. Not even a single one was seen alive.

"How.." Y/n whispered out of shock, unknown of the reason as to how they we're all killed brutally.

"Someone must have caused this.." Jeongyeon said, eyes wide open with fear evident on it. "Let's take a detour, we can't go past here anymore"

They all agreed to what Jeongyeon said, and looked for a possible detour. Once they found one, they went on their way without any more problem.

While the others already moved on from what happened earlier, Y/n on the other hand couldn't stop thinking about it.

How did that even happen? Was it even possible for someone to cause that? Or...

Y/n looked at the others to see all of them fell asleep, probably tired from their current situation.

She turned to focus on driving, looking at the map for the routes.

maybe something caused it...

Y/n took deep breaths, trying to erase those thoughts on her mind, not wanting to dwell on it anymore.

Y/n saw a bunch of birds, flying fast away from their habitats, heading the other way.
Y/n suddenly felt nervous, she didn't know why, but she feels kind of scared for a moment.

Y/n didn't mind it at first, but as time goes by, the feeling only grew more. She suddenly speeds up the car unconsciously, not being aware of what she's doing now.

"Hey, slow it down" a person spoked behind her, causing her to flinch from the sudden voice. She looks at the rearview mirror to see Seulgi awake, looking back at her.

"We're gonna run out of gas again if you speed it up like this" Seulgi said before Y/n starts to slow it down on a normal pace. Y/n lets out a mumbled sorry, her grip tightening little by little on the steering wheel.
