Chapter 20

A night has passed and a peaceful ride is the only way to describe their drive back to the campsite. A few zombies here and there but they managed to handle it without escalating the situation any further.

They were getting near to their destination, and right now all they did was talk and have fun, entertaining themselves with each other's presence as the morning sunshine embraces them.

"Finally, we're almost back" Jeongyeon chirped, stretching her arms upward.

"I can't wait to get some proper sleep. My back is starting to hurt from sitting here" Jihyo groaned, fixing herself into a more comfortable position.

"I'll call Wendy to inform her that we're almost back" Irene informed, picking up her phone as she ran through her contacts, searching for Wendy's number.

She finally found it and clicked the call button, putting the phones on ring as she waited for Wendy to accept her call. A few rings has passed and Wendy still hasn't answered the phone, making Irene confused and worried. "Weird... She didn't answer"

"Try calling her again. Maybe she's still asleep or busy" Sungkwan suggested as Irene nodded, pressing the call button once again. The phone kept ringing until it eventually stopped with Wendy still not answering the phone.

Irene furrowed her brows, getting nervous from the unanswered call. Usually, Wendy would answer within 3 rings maximum, but she's already missed two calls from her.

"We'll speed up. I've got a bad feeling about this" Irene returned her phone from her pocket as she gently pressed the gas pedal, gaining speed slowly. All of them were confused as the noise died down, silence engulfing the van.

They finally arrived at the campsite and was horrified to see the state of it. The tents were destroyed and tattered. Few dead bodies were found lying around covered with dirts and blood and smogs were almost everywhere.

Their eyes widened at the site. It was completely destroyed and they were unaware of it until now. How could Wendy not informed Irene about it? She could have called or left a text for her to at least know what was happening.

The girls covered their mouth's as they were all equally shocked at what they're seeing right now. Different thoughts ran in their mind. How and when did this happen? They were only gone for almost two days.

Mina took a step, her eyes fixated on something. She took another step and slowly, she was already jogging forward.

"Y/n..."

She was now running, skipping over the bodies and rocks on her way. The girls followed her, calling out her name as they tried to catch up with her speed.

"Y/n..." Mina lowly muttered, running with even more speed than before. Her mind could have thought of anything else, but the only thing that instantly went into her mind was Y/n.

She was now in front of the tent that Y/n was supposed to be resting. However, the tent was also destroyed. The girls finally arrived and also saw the tent in front of them. They shivered from the sight, eyes widened as even more thoughts came into their mind.

Jeongyeon immediately rushed to the tent, lifting it with all her might. Seulgi and Chaeyoung followed, helping Jeongyeon on lifting the tent. They finally lifted the tent up and saw that the bed was empty but covered with a huge amount of blood stain on it.

They all stood there frozen, not knowing how to take in the situation. They were not expecting this. All they thought was that they finally found something that could have helped Y/n, but instead they found the campsite all demolished.
