I don't know when I got like this, but I just can't help it. When she turned her head, our eyes locked. "I got caught", I thought, but I couldn't care less. I just want to appreciate God's art. I realized I was probably giving her the creeps, so I diverted my gaze upwards and signed. I need self-control, but this bet is getting to me. I need a way to end all of this before it gets out of hand, I murmured to myself. before I had the chance to bring my head down. Abigail was found hovering over me angrily before she had the chance to talk. I waved at her, smiled innocently, and said "hi," looking relaxed and unbothered.
It takes her by surprise, but
She composed herself and frowned. "Why are you ignoring me?" she asked, annoyed. "I got a lot going on, so can you excuse me, Abigail? I got somewhere to be." I restored getting up. I saw my guy friends talking to Jennifer's group, so I went there to get a distraction. "Yo, bro, where have you been?" Desmond asks, greeting me boy's style. "Yeah, bro, where have you been?" Eric asked, greeting me the same way. "Doing the same, nothing special, just talking here and there". I replied, looking unbothered. They all turned to look in the direction I came from, and I saw her walking towards us. Smiling wildly, looking relaxed and unfazed. The guys tapped my back and winked at me for a job well done. I never thought ignoring her would lead to this. I now know why girls like playing hard to get. It's messing with the person you're ignoring.
We expected Abigail to be heading here, but she never came.
Abigail POV
I got stopped by a few boys who wanted to confirm something for me. There's a rumor about me coming from a rich school, which annoyed me.
"How did you find out about this?" I asked, my mood suddenly changing. Mood ruined, I said, angrily narrowing a glance at the boys.
"A girl named Ophelia claims she attended the same school you did, and she said we could ask you if we had any doubt, so yeah", one of the boys said awkwardly. I gritted my teeth, feeling agitated. I didn't want anyone I knew coming here. Don't get me wrong, but the other five students from my school transferred somewhere else, but Ophelia and her close best friend are here. Nothing is going in my favor today.
Remember when I said I had a group of friends who I always went out with? Kezia, Ophelia, and we'll call Josephine the traitor. I think I never mentioned the two girls because they were not important. Just two students found pleasure in making people suffer. Let me break this down for you.
Kezia is my childhood friend; she's the sweetest soul. Though we have a 1-year gap, we always act like siblings. Even though I'm the stubborn and insensitive one, she always stays by my side, no matter what. She scolds me when I do something wrong and applauds me when I do something good. She's that friend you can't leave without, and it's hard to get along with her.
Same with Ophelia. I got no beef with her. That's a lie. That girl has stepped on my toe countless times and pretends as if she knows nothing. She's not only a hypocrite but a manipulator and a lair, and she walks like a flamingo. Excuse my language, but she does, and let's not talk about how she not only started a stupid rumor and acted disingenuous but also made Josephine go against me.
