Shuichi rushed in to the Cafe and sat across from me

"Sorry I'm late rantaro, class went a bit long today," he apologized.

"It's ok I wasn't waiting long," I smiled.

"Good, id feel terrible if you were sitting here long"

"I wouldn't mind waiting for you" I winked

"That's sweet" Shuichi smiled back at me.

He and I have been friends for a while now. We met in a college class about 6 months ago and we grew close studying together. It's kind of silly actually we talk a lot, but not about the stuff that matters. I've opened up to him , telling him about my sisters and ex boyfriends. He doesn't talk as much as I do. No matter how many questions I ask,but I'm ok with that. Honestly I'm ok with just looking at him. Me and him studying together is great but I really only stare at him and talk. And that's what I was doing, talking, staring, studying. Then Shuichi looked up at me and hesitated to speak.

"Is something up?" a asked

"Well yeah, so you know Kaede," Shuichi looked away when talking and I had a feeling I knew what he was going to say "she asked me out on a date yesterday," my heart sank to my stomach but i smiled.

"So did you say yes to the date?" a part of me was hoping he said no, but I know he likes Kaede and if he's happy i should be too.

"Yeah I did, tomorrow, 6pm, the Cafe on 3rd Street," he shyly smiled

"I bet your pretty excited,"

"No. I'm actually really nervous, I've never been on a date before or dated." Shuichi tensed up

"Seriously you've never been on a date? if I knew that id take you on one myself!" I meant it, but joking with him is the best thing to do for him and me, and he smiled and laughed "hey, how about tomorrow after your date you come over to my place and tell my all about it,"

"Yeah, i will" shuichi smiled.
