"I knew I couldn't trust you!"
"Kaveh-" Alhaitham couldn't formulate an explanation fast enough. He kept trying to figure out a way to explain what happened but nothing sounded credible. He watched Kaveh storm over but his voice was stuck in his throat.
"I'm married!" Lumine sobbed, hugging her bare chest. "To think you were such an animal that you would attack me as I was asking for help!"
"Save it," Kaveh grabbed the back of her dress and pulled her up to her feet. He dragged her to the door and threw her out, slamming it in her face. He then opened it again. "Nahida stays here," he pointed at the ground and slammed the door a second time. Then opened it again. "Oh, and one more thing," he walked out and gave her a slap across her cheek, loud enough that Alhaitham heard it. Then, for the third time, the door slammed.
Kaveh returned to Alhaitham and sat down beside him. "Alhaitham, are you okay?" he asked, holding his shoulder. "Alhaitham?" he waved his hand in front of his face.
"You didn't fall for it?" Alhaitham asked quietly. "You didn't fall for her trap?"
"I will admit that if I had been a few seconds later, I probably would've," Kaveh sighed. "I haven't been in your life that long and you had feelings for her for years. All of that time yearning, how could I measure up to that?"
"Kave-" Alhaitham snapped his head around to face him. He was about to defend himself but Kaveh placed his finger on his lips.
"I was waiting in the hallway to see what she would do but I brought the jar to make it look like I'd just run from the kitchen. I arrived just before she screamed."
Alhaitham looked confused. He didn't understand why that would help Kaveh trust him.
"'You're wrong,'" Kaveh furrowed his brows and tried his best to mimic Alhaitham's voice, "'we're not friends. Kaveh and I, we're together.'"
"You heard that?" Alhaitham closed his eyes, forcing a laugh to calm his nerves.
"Yes," Kaveh pressed his forehead against Alhaitham's head as he cupped his face. "You filled me with confidence that you care for me and you didn't even know it until I told you. Silly, isn't it?"
"I want to fill you with something else right now."
"Hey, Nahida is still here!" Kaveh blushed.
"She sure is. What's a good age to learn how babies are made?" Alhaitham teased.
"Are you serious right now?"
"Well?" Alhaitham slid his hand to Kaveh's ass, giving it a squeeze. "Don't you want to have my children?"
"Nahida is too cute as it is. What if I ruin it and we have a kid that looks like me?" Kaveh wrapped his arms around Alhaitham's neck.
"That could be a problem," Alhaitham smiled, "I might end up loving the kid more than you," he snickered.
"It's a good thing I can't get pregnant then," Kaveh huffed, "or I would've slapped you for that comment!"
