"well, hellooooo nurse!" i fearfully turn my head, two odd looking dog-like creatures whistled at me? what's happenin?

the two "dogs", i'm calling them dogs for now, were kooky lookin. one had khaki slacks up to his waist with a belt holding them up and the other was short with a red cap and blue turtleneck. their features were quite odd as well, noses like Rudolph the red nosed reindeer and ears that were like a bunny, they also wore gloves? the stress is probably getting to me mentally.

"well are ya just gonna stare at me with those pretty eyes or are you gonna speak, toots~?" i was knocked out of my thoughts by his voice, recollecting myself in this embarrassing situation.

"o-oh! i'm so sorry uh- i have to be somewhere-"  i came up with my best excuse as the heat creeped up to my face, who are these guys to catcall me? i speed walked up to the coffee machine and grabbed a cup, filling it up with ice.

"awh, are you sureee? it's far too dangerous for a pretty lady like you to be wandering alone~" he purred, making my the hairs on my arms stand up.

"that's kind of you but i have friends waiting for me" i filled up my cup with my preferred coffee flavor and grabbed a lid to seal it.

"speaking of them, where are my friends?" i thought frantically, i wasn't really prepared for these sorts of situations.

"awh bummer, you could hangout with us! we're plenty of fun!" the shorter one stuck his tongue out, his accent caught me off guard slightly.

"yeah! oh right, we forgot to introduce ourselves!" taking a sip from my drink, i quickly grabbed a mini breakfast sandwich and some chips from the aisles and went up to the cashier, finally seeing my friends at the register.

"oh right!"

"i'm yakko! but you can call me yours~"

"and i'm wakko!"

"oh cool-!"

placing my things down on the counter, i caught up with my breath silently. to my side i hear my friends bickering about who should pay.

"you paid last time, i wanna pay!"

"you snooze you lose, sucker!" the poor, tired cashier looked at the two idiots and was ready to take whoever's cash.

"ha! i put it down first, take it take it!!" adrian managed to sweep away joslyn's money onto the floor, urging the cashier to take his.

"i hate you"

"thanks!"

sighing, i take out the cash from my embarrassing wallet and handed it to the cashier.

"take min-"

"put that back into your wallet"

he frowned but put it back as said, accepting his defeat.

i grabbed my bagged goods from the cashier, muttering a "thank you, you too" and catching up with those dorks at the door.

"hey wait i never got your name!" yakko, was it? called out, i was so brain scattered i didn't even respond to those goofsters.

walking out the door, i see another dog-creature-furry thing running up to the door, im assuming that she's related to the other two. in a blink of an eye, all i could put together from her blurry figure was a pink skirt and something yellow holding her ears together. was that a smoke trail she left behind??

"we gotta go faster, bell's about to ring" adrian dropped this info on us, checking his phone.

"whattt? it's only 8:30! we've got time-" joslyn stood her ground misinformed, but i corrected her "it's 8:39 right now.."

"SH-" a beep covered her curse word, yakko holding up a red button.

"ah ah ah! the fox censors won't allow that!"

"huh??"  i turn around to see him again, but he's disappeared. i swear i coulda heard him again, my mind playing tricks on me man.

...

"my feet hurt.." i quietly caught up with my breath, making sure nobody can see me heavily breathing.

"two flights of stairs ain't for the weak.. can't imagine going up all the way to D floor in the morning.."  i hear my geometry teacher walk into the classroom, chipper as always.

"good morning class! how are we all on this beautiful morning?" nobody responds to his thoughtful question, it's too early for this.

"y'all have got to be my most awkward, quietest class i've had" he tsks as he hands out our notes for the day.

...

as the day went on, i can't stop thinking of my strange encounter with those silly lookin dogs. they sparked questions in my head, who were they? how do they look like that? i should've handled their catcalling better, but oh well.

"hey.! earth to yami!" my friend snapped her fingers, her other hand shaking me slightly.

"huh..??" i snapped out of my trance, taking out my earbuds to hear her.

"you seem so distracted lately, what's up??" her voice had a bit of worry tainting it's playful tone.

"oh! it's nothin, i promise you" i gave her a small smile, reassuring her everything was ok.

"awh really? you're always zoning out in class, you always got something on your mind.."

"trust me, it's nothing like that!"

"or... is it a someone..~?" she whispered ever so softly in my ear.

"cállate! (shut up!) ain't nobody on my mind right now.." is what I said, but was i telling the truth?
