"Oh shut up Marlene," I scoffed "Everybody knows that the oh-so-charming James Potter is in love with Lily Evans"

"I don't know, he seems rather observant of you lately" She smirked at me, scribbling on her piece of parchment.

"You're lying-

"Miss McKinnon and Miss Y/l/n" McGonagall snapped, "You are not to be talking during writing"

"Sorry professor," We both said, hiding the laugh that was about to escape our mouths.

After being scolded by Professor McGonagall, I put my head down and worked for the rest of the lesson. The bell sound soon went and everyone gathered their items, exiting the classroom. I felt someone nudge my shoulder as I made my way to the common room. I turned up to meet the face of James Potter.

"Naughty girl" He grinned, "Minnie looked disappointed with you"

"Shut up" I spoke, rolling my eyes as a small blush crept onto my cheeks.

It seemed that James decided to stick with me as we had got to the common room and he was still walking with me. As I said the password and the portrait swung open, no other than Lily Evans walked right out. I braced myself for James to start swooning over her, but he was silent. I looked at him with a questioning look. He just ignored Lily for the first time since 1st year?!

"James, are you alright?" I asked, taking a seat on the sofa, him doing the same."Yeah, why do you ask?" He said, leaning back on the sofa and putting an arm on top of it.

"You just ignored, Lily Evans!" I exclaimed, pointing at him. "Right," He nodded, furrowing his eyebrows "I suppose I've kind of, well, moved on?"

My jaw dropped open as I stared at him with a seriously?! type look, but he just smirked at me.

"Oh come on, it can't be that surprising" He chuckled
"I mean it kind of is, you've liked her since 1st year" I stuttered, Maybe Marlene might be right about him liking me? No don't get your hopes up.

"Well, I decided to stop wasting my time and put my attention on someone else" He grinned, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Who's the girl? or boy-

"Now why would I tell you" He questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"Cause I'm curious" I shrugged, looking at him.

He didn't say anything back to me and just stared at me, his mouth slightly open. I saw his eyes flicker down to my lips, they just stared there.
