Letters to Ladybug

Hello there!

Update: I had put a few pictures in this post and they aren't showing up! So where it says there are pictures, it is blank but I'm going to try to figure that out. Darn!

Hi Sadie! This morning I saw your message and felt SO terrible for not updating since early May. I have been slacking. We have been busy but that is not an excuse. But you can believe that not one day goes by that I don't think about you! Last night I was organizing our office and found a picture of you with Santa from when you were small as well as a bunch of your artwork from elementary school. I'm going to keep that stuff forever. I actually need to put the artwork in my cedar chest but I can't get to it right now because it's in our back storage room.

So here's what I've been up to:

We went to Kalahari in the beginning of May for our one year anniversary. It was really, really fun and the weather wasn't bad.

The dogs stayed at camp. This is them in the car on the way down:

We went to a concert- my favorite band, Otherwise. And guess what?! I got to MEET the lead singer. He's so cute. We actually met the whole band. I don't like the selfie of me because it's a weird angle but the lead singer took it so I'll deal with it :)

Lily is doing well. She is quite the lap cat, as always. She MUST be on my lap or she's not happy. She also like to knead my stomach with her paws so a lot of times I lay down and read a book while she does that. LOL.

How are YOU? Your mom said that you have a spring dance tonight, that's exciting! I wish I could be there to see how you look. She showed me the dress you plan to wear- I love it! Hopefully she can get a picture to me so I will have it. Reminds me of one of my favorite pictures of you from a mother/daughter dance we went to:

You'll have to tell your mom how it went so she can tell me. I talk to her as often as I can, it seems like she's doing well out there. You know what I secretly wish? I wish you could have come to live with ME while she was gone. I know that's not possible but boy do I wish it all the time. The best years of my adult life were the ones I spent raising you. I was happy doing that because you're an awesome kid, my favorite kid to be precise. I miss you all the time. We will see each other again someday. I have to remind myself of that when I get sad.

How is school going? I think it's almost done for the year, right? Then you're FREE for the summer :) If/when you go to your grandma's in Florida, I will mail you both your birthday gift and your Christmas gift so that you'll have them. It'll be like Christmas in July. I wish it wasn't that way but I don't have any way to send you gifts in December.
