Junkyu's POV

"Junkyu?" Mom called. "Are you sleeping? Ah.. You must be upset with me. I'll just talk to you when we're okay."

'You're lucky you have her. You're lucky you have a mom who would ask someone to take care of you, would listen to you.. Maybe she can't do it herself but at least she's trying to through other people.'

What Mashiho said replayed in my head. "he's right." I shouldn't be this unfair to my mother. I opened the door and called her. "You said you wanted to talk?"

She turned around and hugged me. "Junkyu I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not treating you well. I just don't know how." I felt her tears on my shoulder. "I'm so sorry."

"Mom, don't worry. I understand you." I rubbed her back lightly. "Mashiho made me realize that you actually care for me."

She broke the hug. "I need to tell you something. My conscience is killing me. I can't keep this from you anymore."

"What do you mean?"

"Let's talk in private." We went inside my room and sat on the couch.

"What is this about?"

"It's about your father. I'll tell you what really happened that night. I can't hold it anymore. I think.. I think you should know."

I waited for her to say something. What don't I know?

"Everything was my fault. I was the reason why we faught every night. I started this. I was too inconsiderate."

"Mom, what are you saying?"

"He didn't cheat on me. He didn't run with our money. I made all that up to cover my own mistake. I.. I was the one who cheated."

"You can't be serious. He's the one who's at fault, not you. Stop blaming yourself."

"Junkyu! I wasn't a loyal wife. You see me as a friendly and kind person. I'm not. I had an affair with someone and he found out. That's why he decided to leave me."

"Mom stop!"

"He wanted to take you! He wanted to take you and your sister! I had to make you hate him so you won't leave me.. I'm sorry.."

This is not true.. Why is she saying all this? "Mom.. Did he force you to do this?"

"No. I did all these. It's my fault, not his.. forgive me please.." She cried and said sorry repeatedly. "Junkyu I'm sorry.."

"Mom.."

"Kyu, forgive me. I've been so selfish."

All she told me was a lie? Dad had nothing to do with this? I blamed him all my life yet he did nothing wrong. "I-I need to think about this." I left my room and went somewhere.

"Sir?"

"Where is he?" The maid looked scared but I need to see him. I need to know if what my mother is saying is true. "Tell him to get the fuck out!!"

"Junkyu." His deep voice called. "I'll talk to him." The maid left and dad walked towards me. "What do you need this time?"

"Is it true? Is it really mom's fault?"

"I guess she already told you the truth after many years." So it's true? It's really mom's fault? "She even payed me to stay away."

"Why didn't you tell me?! All these years I've been killing you in my mind! You didn't deserve my hate.. Dad.."

"It's so good hearing you calling me 'dad' again. But that happened years ago. I live with my own family now and.. And we're doing fine."

"I don't want to go back."

"Yah, don't leave her alone. You're all she has left. I know Yeonghi's regretting what she did. We also made up a week ago, we're in good terms now."

"Dad.."

"You hungry? You can come in if you want. Your grandparents would like to see you."

"You don't have a new family?" He shook his head.

"Your old man's unlucky when it comes to love. Don't be like me. Come on, let's talk inside."

My grandparents were happy to see me. We chatted about random things and dad and I talked about Mashiho. He said I should keep him

"I'll be going. Thanks for the talk dad." He smiled and waved goodbye. I was walking home when I saw Mashiho crying on the sidewalk. "Mashi!"

he faced me. His eyes were swollen. Was he crying the whole time? "Junkyu.." I ran towards him. "Kyu.." I hugged him

"Hey.. What happened?"

"Mom.. Mom loved somebody else.. Not my father.." he hugged me tighly and whispered.

"They had a child."
