The rest of the conversation was a blur, and Hiwatari found herself in the same bedroom she fell asleep in. She got out of her bed and walked around the room to get a look at what the room looked like. There was a beer can on the floor. She picked up the beer can. It said under the brand name it was "Second World Imported Oni beer. "
Right...
It was not long ago that Kaori Azuma was alive. They were fairly close, she was the one who brought her to this house in the first place, but...
Hiwatari stared blankly at the beer can.
"Did me becomimg a vampire made me lose my empathy or something? " Hiwatari thought.
"Well that Toyasumi is coming here tomorrow, and I may not see some of these people again. So i should just go see if I can have a conversation with as many of these people I can. "
Hiwatari opened the door to the hallway. She's immediately barraged in the face with silly string.
"What the? "
"Heehee, I knew someone would be in there? " Iku said, holding a can of silly string, smiling cheekily.
"What was the point of that? "
"Ermm... Because I can! "
"Pull that stuff in a more public setting and it's bound to bite you back. "
"Why? Nothin's biting me now? "
"Because it's not quite... Socially acceptable to spray people with silly string in serious places. "
"Ohhh! I get it now! Thank you! "
"Oh, no problem, you finally got it? "
"Yeah! It's society's problem! Not mine! "
"Ahh.... Just when I got my hopes up. " Hiwatari sighed.
"Keep your hopes down next time, okay? " Iku disappeared into the ceiling.
"She's a handful alright. " Hiwatari sighed as she kept walking the long, rich, hallway.
Suddenly, coming from another room, she heard a big boom that sounded like it was some stuff falling over. Hiwatari ran inside the room and found Scarlet buried under a bookshelf that was knocked over ontop of her. She looked unamused.
"Hey... Want me to help with that? "
Scarlet pointed to a single book. "Hold onto that one. "
Hiwatari looked down at the one she was pointing at, it was a book about cultural customs and traditions. She bent over and picked it up and saw as Scarlet magically had the bookshelf, along with all of the other books pulled up to their original position. As this happened, she felt a pull on the book she was holding, but it wasn't strong enough to win.
"How did you do that? Magic I assume? "
"No, I just do 100 pushups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats and a 10 kilometer run everyday." She said sarcastically.
"I see, is that why you're so... Small?"
"No, it's why I'm not wasting my time in some warehouse. "
"Hm? "
"Ahh shit, fine, I'll tell you my deal so you can fuck off. I'm a doll, who learnt magic and the occult to become more human-like, and I fucked it up and now I'm above humans, I guess. "
"Why specifically humans? When I was a human in the second world, I was on the streets. "
"Maybe because the second world people are fucking stupid, but one day... I would like to see a second world human who's actually worth a damn, no magic, no behelits, and still actually doing something with their life, that's what I would like to do. "
"I see, I'm sure there's plenty of that in the first world. "
"Haven't you seen a single news station here? They're all fucking stupid! "
"Not really... By the way, is having all sorts of countries better than just having everything under one government, like in the second world? "
"That's up to opinions, but I think it's probably better under 1 government as long as that government isn't a bunch of patriarchal pedophilic assholes who force people with magic to do shit. "
"Really? Because the head of the Mikage family now, Toyasumi, doesn't seem that bad, maybe a bit mean, but nothing too bad... I guess from aside threatening to kill some of us... "
"Is that so? A female in the Mikage family actually took charge? Well she must've had to do some shit in order to win that one, that and she probably has daddy issues. "
"You're not even gonna comment on the killing thing? "
"No? I can't die, so what's the point if like 2 people here die? Most of us are immortal anyway. "
"You.... " Hiwatari thinks for a bit. The only mortals are Nao, Eve, Nakano, Shimu, Iku, and maybe Yumeko, Ibiki, and herself... Nao and Eve are probably strong enough to hold their own, but the others... "Are forgetting there are loopholes, right? Plenty enough of us can hypothetically die. "
"Then sort it our yourselved and get out of my room and give me that book."
Hiwatari hands over the book to Scarlet. She wanted to ask about why Scarlet wanted a book about cultures and traditions, but despite being like only 2 foot tall, Scarlet was pretty intimidating.
Hiwatari walked backwards as she slowly closed the door of Scarlet's room.
She continued to walk the long, big hallway until she started hearing some faint piano sounds. Hiwatari looked for the room it came from, putting her ear by every door until she found the sound's source. She opened the door to see a mostly empty room except for a piano, scattered around soundproof padding, and Pekona playing the piano. She looked content as she played the tune.
"Hey! I didn't know you played piano! "
Pekona stopped playing her song. "Really? Thank you! "
Hiwatari walked closer to Pekona. "No problem, so is this just what you do? "
"Mhm! Ever since I was created by a lonely boy, I've always liked music, then sometime, that boy went off somewhere, to some facility owned by his absent father or something. So I was pretty lonely until I came across this place! They were so nice as to let me have this room! I love piano! But hmm, maybe you should give it a try! " she said wit a smile, without an ounce of hatred in her voice. Good, it was starting to feel like everyone was a bit of an asshole.
"Oh... I've never even touched one, id probably suck at it."
"The fact that you never touched one gives all the more reason to try it!... Err... I'm not pushing it on you, right? "
"It's fine, and I guess I could do something on here. " Hiwatari walked to the piano and started by touching the wood that framed the piano. Then, Hiwatari moved her hands to the actual keys, and started with the lowest note, and kept pressing the keys as she made her way higher up the scale, ending at the highest note. The sounds of the piano filled the room.
"By the way, if you were wondering, it's in tune! " Pekona said.
"I didn't even know pianod can be out of tune until now."
"Is that so? I'm sorry for assuming you did know! "
"No, it's okay."
For once, Hiwatari had an interaction at this place that didn't involve everyone arguing with eachother or something along those lines.
"Alright, right now, I'm working on composing a song called uhh... I don't have a name for it, heheh... "
"Well if you think of one, you can tell me. "
"Alright!"
"We'll I'll be going now, nice talking to you!"
"Okay, byebye! "
Hiwatari left the room, staring around the mansion, thinking.
"How would I feel if all of this died? "
