Your warm calloused hand in mine
Your heart beat ringing in my ears
The way you'd groan out ma, calling out for grandma
You squeezing my hand letting me know that you were still here
Our minds racing in remembrance of all the good times even the bad and sad ones too
Hoping and praying for just a little more time
Wishing that you were just playing a great halloween prank a little too early
Praying that it was just one big nightmare
The burning in my lungs as I tried to run away
The burning in my eyes as the tears fell after acceptance
The empty feeling in my heart since you've been gone.
I will always love you.
